As a graphic designer, I can definitely appreciate how much Photoshop makes my world simpler. With the advent of CS5, it'll be even easier.

Long story short, Photoshop CS5 will have this new "Content Aware" fill which, when used, will automatically delete an object from an image and replace it with relevant pixels information for you. It's very impressive.

If the final product is capable of doing what this video shows, no one will ever be able to trust a photo again.

What CS5 already!
Christ man... I have CS3 at home and use CS2 at work (yes, I'm a graphic designer as well).

Slow down there Adobe! Most of us can't afford your over-priced (albeit great) software.

Spoiler: Made this from scratch in CS2, while bored at work one day. The only thing that isn't Pen tool (my best friend in Photoshop) ? Gaussian Blur ? Gradient overlay is the wood panel

Nice, but I hope CS5 fixes those nasty issues with the unpleasant UI and all that. CS4 feels like it's designed to go on a Mac - and take it from someone who uses a Mac regularly for print design, that's a pretty big hassle, because the Mac's interface is horrendous.

Photoshop already has a $1000+ pricetag on it. Don't expect this one to be any cheaper.

I know that. I mean I have a feeling its gonna be even more expensive on realise than it normally is. I can see them milking this feature for a good bit of money

Photoshop is almost exclusively corporate supported. Everyone else just pirates it.

We get it free from school so I cant wait until the new version comes out =)

Yes, it's free, but it's horrible. The UI is a pain to use, and it lacks a bucketload of the features that photoshop has. It's not really practical for anything beyond basic image manipulation.

You know, one upshot of image manipulation getting better is that blackmail photos will become less believable. The ultimate defence: "I could have photoshopped that in my sleep - in fact, here's one of the judge in exactly the same situation, and give me a minute and I'll add the prosecution in there too!"

As a user of GIMP I'll keep using it, but holy hell this is impressive technology that Adobe is coming out with, and unless it's competitors can catch up they are going to dominate them hardcore.
