I highly doubt watching American TV gives you a good idea of daily American life. Also, I like how this thread has derailed into IQ level debates.

Interesting read, take of it what you will.

I will agree that the average American's grasp on European geography is hazier since we, for the most part, do not deal with European countries as much on a day to day basis. However there have been tests of Europeans and Americans asked to point out countries that are not in either continent (like Africa for instance) that they faired about the same. The idea that I know about YOUR country (America) why don't you know about mine, colors people's perceptions.

A question to any Americanos: Does a game involving a foreign power invading your country provoke any sort of emotional reaction from you?
Why should it? I realize America is perfectly able to be invaded. I live in an area thats not exactly great, and we have a good bit of gang activity, so its basically like seeing war, especially since two of the three offical gangs are trying to kill each other.

Besides, a question back to you.. um... stormtrooper man. Shouldnt all war evoke emotion?

I know enough about the USA to know that any plot that involves it being invaded by korea is totaly unrealistic. Really, it sounds immersion breaking stupid!

"World in conflict" was an exelent game, and a good example of a "what if USA was invaded" type of game. It was not made by americans. I think that may have had something to do with how good it was.

The US is way too large and diverse to have any real culture points that all of us would get and none of you other folk would. Each of our states is roughly the size of a country itself, and they each tend to have their own cultures. I'm from Massachusetts and I am attending school in Louisiana. I swear to god that these two places might as well be on different corners of the planet. They hardly speak English down here. And not a single Dunkin' Donuts. It's just so different...

OT: I don't think non-Americans would recognize much. I seen non Americans think the west coast is a lush wonderland where metropolises rule; In reality The west coast is a mix of dust bowls, badlands, and SOME timber forests. Water is highly sought after by the local states and periodically take each other to court over how much water they get. The cities themselves are low density towns, mostly built in a boxy gypsum wall fashion while the big cities have most if not all of the stone structures. It's the east coast that is a lush garden, not the west.
*facepalm* You fail at west coast knowledge forever? For one the "Dust Bowl" is a phrase refering to the Great Plains and a series of draughts that forced a mass migration to the west.
Secondly the badlands are in one (1) of the west coast states (in southern California) and in the various states immediatly east of those.
Timber forests and mountains make up most all of the two northern west coast states.

California has 8 of the 50 most populated cities in the country and LA is the second most populous region in America. Furhtermore California (which is veyr large) has a mediterranian climate with forests on top and deserts on the botton.

Those forests ont he west coast are also home to both the most volumous and the tallest trees on the planet, and the west coast grows trememdous amounts of nuts (the biggest producer of almonds in the world), strawberries, and citrus, as well as producing wine and growing avacados.

And not a single Dunkin' Donuts. It's just so different...
*shock* I...i was sure...*turns away* And here i thought every state had embraced enlightenment from Dunkin Donuts.

Your comments regarding the west coasts lack of cities, forests, and lush fertile land are completly false.
