While I do see there were redeeming aspects of the original, I rather have invested my time and money elsewhere. The last gen library offered much more quality titles by the time Homefront released in 2011.
I was referring to Frontlines: Fuel of War. You say you passed on the original Homefront because the developer made Frontline. My memory is foggy, but I remember Frontline being decent.

Anyhow, on the subject of Homefront 2, I'm about 30 mins into the game, and thus far it has been a solid, atmospheric experience. I'm playing on medium with maxxed out FOV, and the framerate is tolerable. Could be better, but it's workable.

The visuals are good. The voice acting is pretty good, although recycled NPC lines are a shame. The weather effects are fantastic. The storytelling is well done, and I've seen nothing so far to suggest bad writing. I've come across a single bug so far, where an NPC wasn't running her idle animation correctly and kept standing\arms out\standing\arms out rapidly.

Either this game is going to suddenly start sucking, which is not impossible, or it's a victim of inferior console ports, bugs, and simply not being to the tastes of some people.

As for this new game. I happen to come across a YouTube reviewer that exposed just how badly designed Revolution is.
Link? I know "badly designed" is one of those super subjective things--Resident Evil 6 is the best designed TPS ever and everyone who disagrees is just plain wrong and should be ashamed of themselves, for example--but it's always interesting to mull over design criticisms. Design criticisms are way more valid than "boo, hoo, the game is too much like other games" or "boo boo, the game has bugs and performance issues".
