Isn't that what happens in Nazi Germany?
Thats exactly what happened.. The similarities between the Nazis and the US government is staggering...
Anyone who disagrees should look up on how Hitler came to power and how the US is getting into its wars...

Mate, as soon as I can get my Katana through customs, I´ll be right there with you.
Think you can organize a couple of pimped-out motorbikes ?

Makes this American b.s. look like kindergarten.
Dunno, insane propaganda is kinda cool. Unlike being groped by the TSA.

Welcome to the glorious tomorrow. We can't have anyone disrupting it now, can we?

It is rather humorous to me. I am playing Deus Ex atm. Obviously set in a dystopian future where terrorism in the US is a part of daily life. I come across a random bulletin board in the subway in hells kitchen that practically reads verbatim to this.

Its funny how our silent fears that we tell ourselves could never happen to us, slowly start to come to fruition if left unchecked.

So this is basically trying to get people to report any crime or suspicious behaviour they see?

How is this bad? I doubt the authorities are going to arrest people without decent evidence.

I didn't see anything in that article that suggested idiocy to the level of the Red Scare or McCarthyism.
Thank you for not being so easily outraged.

I would like to point out some similarities. Yes, this is similar to Nazi Germany, because there was a sense of society in Nazi Germany just as there is now, and you are expected to report crimes and such in order to protect it, just as you are now (and always have been might I add). Also, Nazi Germany had people that wore clothes the majority of the time, they drove cars, and most people didn't wipe shit on their faces. stop comparing this to Nazi Germany.

So anyway, if you feel like you're being hunted because you affiliate yourself with the political party "terrorism" or "crime" then feel free to argue how your rights have actually been violated?

I think it's fun to see people freaking out like this. Right now, America may be on course for the stereotype dystopia setting we all love so much, but there still a long way off, and probably won't ever get there in truth. This program is just a counter to the apathy and stupidity found in the average citizen(not just American citizens)

Has anyone actually read the article? All this is is Wal-Mart running a blurb about the See-Something-Say-Something campaign because they happen to already have TV's in their buildings. Granted, I'll be sick of hearing it ad nauseum because I work there, but it's scarcely an Orwellian scheme.
