Reading the OP, and the responses here, I think it's safe to say we all pretty much condemn what these people have done to AlienSlof, and we should definitely support her. That said, if anyone can find an email address or whatever (try looking on her personal website if she has one, and so on), then I'm basically going to steal The Necroswanson's great idea and try and set up a petition about this. If anyone agrees then I'll set up a seperate thread alongside this one and people can simply say there if they want to be in the petition, and I'll put a link there to this thread as well. However, I'll need some support from you guys to set it up, and it'll only work if anyone can get her email address or something.

Just thinking about what this Petition would say.

"Supporting nude penises in video games." Oh yeah try walking to random people in a wal-mart parking lot trying to get signatures with that. XD

But my poor sense of humor aside this is a good idea. Once the internet tough guy homophobes see some support on the other side. They might back down and calm down... lets just not go to any bigbox store's parking lot XD.

The immaturity of some people never ceases to amaze me; they're complaining about mods to a game that they choose to download. You'd think that the easiest path would be to just not download the damn things...

Ah, the world of double-standard. Women have been depicted naked for centuries now, but there is still controversy over the male body. If they were ever offended by such trivial things, have they ever stopped to think that women are offended the same? Such intolerance is expected, but doesn't make it acceptable.

There is also no need to justify to being a woman for making these type of mods. It's disgusting to harass no matter your sexuality.

Don't get me wrong whatever they said to make her do this was 100% wrong. However really..she shouldn't let some forum rants and obvious 14 yr old comments get to her or stop her from doing what she enjoys. So yes. Double win for the enemy.

I'm not sure that there is much i can add at this point.
But whatever, i'll give it a shot.
In my opinion, the one lesson that people never seem to learn is that you should avoid doing things that can cause you stress (the stress being from criticism/mockery from the masses) and take the easy way out by relieving yourself of said action
I find it laughable that i have read, time and time again, that someone has gone out of their way to do something that led to a VERY EASILY PREDICTABLE slaughtering by the harsh public.
When will people learn?!?!?
My prediction is never. People will never understand that doing X will lead to Y, Y being the harsh beating from the masses. Then the person will ***** about Y and that will lead to Z which is people complaining about the person receiving Y for doing X.
And i will sit here laughing as people continue to do this and i continue to hold control over my sanity

You said it all bro.
Exactly, what more is there to add?
I found a lot to add.
And hey i spent a good couple minutes typing and thinking of what to say in the above post so at least read it and give it your thoughts so i don't feel like i wasted some time of my life trying to stand out among the masses of forum posters

EDIT: I also think that i discussed some key issues in the human populace that tend to be highly ignored so i want so see what the populace has to say.

I know what your'e saying here, but that's basically the same as saying "No one's going to like what you do, so don't even bother trying it." Personally, I think that the phrase "nothing ventured, nothing gained" applies here. No radical movement has ever been immediately supported by 100% of the populace, and if it doesn't meet an ounce of opposition, then who's to say there was even a point?

calling a dong mod a "radical movement" is kind of overdoing it, don't you think?

Sorry, I exaggerated. I was making an example in general, I didn't mean to imply that this situation in particular was a wave of the future.

I hate to set myself up as an easy target for flaming, but Slof isn't entirely in the right on this issue, nor are her attackers entirely in the wrong. Breasts (and even asses) are not proper analogy to penises, so the presentation of anatomically correct (or even very incorrect) breasts is not the same as anatomically correct penises.

If showing breasts were equivalent to showing penises, I promise you that either full frontal nudity would be much less of a deal, or partial-nudity would be much more of a deal. The proper comparison for male genitalia is female genitalia; penis is equivalent to vagina. I'm sorry that there's no male equivalent secondary sexual organ to breasts, but there isn't. A "leg-long wank" is not equivalent to a "foot-long breast".

Let me give you, then, a for instance. First, of course, there's an intent on the modder's part to showcase the genitalia, since no armor would either actively show (much less accentuate) the penis. So, If I were to create a mod which inserted anatomically correct female figures into the game, to be fair to the premise, I should come up with a way to display it. If I created either a magnifying glass accessory (so the view of the vagina could be shown), much less create a "spread her legs" command, I'd be lambasted for being misogynistic before I could say "moral equivalence". That's a double-standard

Either we're good with putting on a peep show using mods (in which case both the male and female genitalia should be on direct display), or we're not. If we are, I'm gonna get to work on my "spread her legs" command. If we're not, then let's not be hypocrites about it.

there are anatomically correct vagina mods.

Sounds to me like these boys need to take their heads out of their asses and get laid. It must be their pent up frustration of looking at these unrealistic versions of the female form, and now they're taking it out on equally abnormal males.
Grow up, boys. Grow up.

I think it's a shame that a bunch of ignorant and immature gamers harassed an artist into withdrawing her works from the public arena, but I also think Slaf has lost the fight by retreating. Essentially, she has admitted that what she did and does is not worthy of public consumption, whether that was her intention or not. If it was up to me, the guys who got her to take her stuff off the modding sites deserve a swift jab in the nards and a quick swipe of a high powered magnet over their hard drives. Part of what makes it so ridiculous is that it's just a mod. They don't have to download it and use it.
