I used to work with a fellow who was an Army reservist. Just about every word out of his mouth was something to do with how the U.S.A was going to hell because Clinton let "The Fags" into the Army.
I have neither the time nor the patience to recount every single bigoted and asinine thing that came out of his mouth but the one thing I do remember him saying was that he couldn't accept "fags" as "normal" because he didn't want some guy fucking him in the ass.
He genuinely believed that if we, as a society accept homosexuality as a normal part of our every day lives every single gay guy in the country is going to hit the streets and start raping straight guys to infect them with gay.
The complete and total lack of rational thought that made up this man's thought processes was just...baffling.

I have never been hit on by a gay guy. In fact I've never seen a gay guy hit on a straight guy period. Why would they? Have you ever encountered someone like this?
I've met a
lot of guys like that. "I don't mind gay dudes as long as they don't hit on me."
Who fuckin' cares if they hit on you? It's not that big of a deal.
It's just a pit fall of the modern dating scene I guess. Sometimes you strike out and sometimes you strike out...when pitching at a player who plays on your own team...I guess.
Sports metaphors suck already, I'm having a hard time making this one work so I'll just abandon it and end with an personal example.
I've been hit on by a gay man once.
At a bar when I was 22 I had a guy sit next to me, strike up a conversation and in the middle of our discussion he asked if I was gay because he thought I was attractive.
I explained that I'm not, he got all flustered because he thought I was going to get pissed so I bought the man a drink, asked to bum a cigarette and we continued our conversation for an hour or so.
My life didn't end, nobody thought less of my masculinity for being attractive to this particular homosexual and despite the brief moment of awkwardness it didn't impede our ability to have a pleasant conversation.
