Now if that offends anyone I feel the same about heterosexuality, I don't know why it just makes me feel awkward to see people sucking face.
Yeah, same. I used to think I had a problem with homosexuals, until I realised I just had a problem with them making out in front of me. I have the same problem with straight people. I don't really care who people are attracted to - they can like people of the same sex as long as they let me like people of the opposite sex. Who am I to say whether that's right, or wrong? I have a lot of friends (possibly an abnormal amount) who are same-sex attracted, or bisexual, and they're just like anyone else.

I see no reason for two men/women to love each other (physically or otherwise) but the whole marriage thing does annoy me. Fair enough if they want a civil union (so they are legally entitled to tax benefits and whatever), but marriage is a largely religious thing, and I'm pretty sure all the major religions are against homosexuality, so it's therefore stupid to have a homosexual marriage. Get the fuck over it, it's not the end of the world.

I also get annoyed with how much special consideration gay people are given. I have a gay friend at uni who consistently uses the "oh I'm gay and having trouble at home because of it" excuse to get extensions for assignments and special consideration. Yes, he's gay, but that shouldn't automatically entitle him to special treatment, yet it seems it does....it's flat wrong.

I don't care who people have sex with, as long as all participants agree. I'm all for gay marriage, or at least giving people in a same-sex civil union, the same rights as married folks. If a priest don't want to bless a civil union I see no problem, but if a church says civil unions can't be blessed in their church I do see a problem.
It's their church, they run it. What right do you have to alter their beleifs? If they don't want to bless homosexual relationships it should be their right not too. I don't see how not letting them practice their religion on their terms is any better than not letting them practice it at all.

Okay. Sexuality is like religion. I don't give two shakes of a rats arse about your religion or sexuality. Practice and love however you like, just don't be blatant about it and shove it in my face. I'm cool with gays, but marde gras is annoying.

If you're cool, we are cool.
If you're a dick about it, then stay away. (No pun intended)
The winning comment. I don't care who they sleep with - just don't be obnoxious about it.

The really homophobic and defensive men usually have a few things to hide too.
They did a study on that a while ago... if you want it, I'll try and hunt it down. Turns out the really homophobic guys actually are just really homophobic, for the most part. There's always the hypocritical exception.

I personally have no problem with homosexuality. I have a few close friends who are homosexual, and I've never once argued against their choice or felt any anger, distrust or negative emotion towards them, unlike a lot of people today.
Fortunately, the Escapist is an open-minded community, so you won't find any haters here.
As they say, Love is Love.

Firstly, I'm offended that you apply the label homophobic to anyone against homosexuality. Please invest in a dictionary.

That said, I have no problems with homosexuality. I have no problem with homosexual people. It does not affect my opinion of a person in any way if they are homosexual.

I agree actually, I don't mind people holding hands, kissing a bit or hugging in public/in my face. But when it get's to serious making out and getting too touchy feely, it's awkward, and a bit embarressing. It should really be done in private.

I agree with Dys about the special consideration thing, though people milking things like that to get off easy just pisses me off in general. That being said, I'm perfectly comfortable in my sexuality, so I don't mind hanging out with my gay friends (or even getting glomped by them on occasion lmao) but then again I'd like these people regardless of sexual orientation ;P

Yes, I share that ,too . I think thats just realy bad and "primitve" behavior for a public place.

Being opposed to another person's sexuality on a moral ground is never a tenable position. You can hate gay sex all you want, that's fine, but you're way out of line if you ever think that your personal opinions should have any bearing on how someone else chooses to live their life.
I think that is the sanest, and most agreeable post I have seen on any thread such as this, whether it be about homosexuality, transsexuality, furries, lolicon, etc. Well done. You've earned my respect, somewhat. Which can't be said of of some other users.

OT: I don't even know what is what anymore, so it doesn't matter to me if someone is homosexual. I myself am nonsexual, so no matters of sexuality affect me.

This. No problem, why should I ? But I dont care and I dont whant to know either. I am cool with Homosexuality, but (faggy) "NOTICE MY GAYNESS !!1" people seriously annoy me.
Are you similarly adverse to the "hey-hey-in-your-face-I'm-hetero-as-fuck-notice-me" attitudes?

It's not something I care to try, but I don't have a problem with gays. As long as they're not too camp (same goes for straight camp men) or in-your-face about it, I don't care, simple as that. I don't agree with gay adoption though, but gay marriage doesn't bother me.

A lesson a lot of people could stand to learn: "I don't like it" should not be synonymous with "I think it's wrong".
I agree. However, some of us who have similar values pertaining to sexuality must remember that understanding and relativity on the matter can not be taught with ad hominem attacks on another person's seemingly 'homophobic' mindset.

Asking about homosexuality onone of the most homo freiendly gaming forums there is (imho)...

Well I'm against it, I used to argue in some long thread where I listed all the arguments but the basic premise is:
Homosexuality is fine.
Saying it's normal is not.
It's a deviation. All in all, sex is about procreation and having offspriing as we are just animals that need to pass their genes. Homosexual "brain wiring" that is supposed to drive them to have sex is flawed and they are attracted to the wrong sex. So it is wrong, in the sense that it's broken.
Still, as homosexuality is harmles and doesn't affect any other aspects of life (on the contrary, homosexuals are often artistically talented) it's not my problem. But propagating it as an equal alternative to heterosexuality - a well developped and working system, pisses me of to no end.
I hate love parades and "educating" childeren that often have little idea what sex even is. We should teach tolerance, not lies.
