But my point is that saying the series hasn't been good since the '90s is plain dishonest, and relying on that for an attack is a blatant strawman. Kinda goes against the whole "honest" trailer thing they claim to be aiming for.

Of course it's not, and I'll be the first to admit that the series has been more garbage than good. Still, that's all the more reason why the problem shouldn't need exaggerated. They're taking the low-hanging fruit and still missing.
