Money can buy drugs, drugs can make you feel happy for a short while... so yes... money can buy happiness.

no it can't buy you happiness. it can help you find happiness, but its not essential. happiness comes from things that you cant really buy because if they have to be bought then they are not worth the price, like family, friends, good sex and drinking in the sunshine with your mates.

ok you need money for the last one but not much. just enough for the beers

I believe it can personally, in most aspects. But not in love, and that's the most important.

Having just enough money will free your hands (partly) from everyday struggling, and thus allow you more time to pursue other interests. By "other interests" I don´t mean just things you can buy. When you don´t have to worry about things like bills, fees, service costs and such, you can concentrate more freely on things like, say, arts, friendship, hobbies etc. Money has so much potential in our world (and there´s nothing I can do about this fact), that it can grant person more power to control his/her own life. Of course, as is traditional, too much money(=power) will eventually bring out the worst in man (My stand is, man needs to be restrained from his natural impulses).

To put it short, money can pull down some of the obstacles, but it doesn´t lead straight to happiness.

The answer to this question depends on what makes you happy. If buying an Aston Martin (or anything else shiny that you really, really want to have) gives you a warm feeling and makes you smile, then yes, you can buy happiness. If sitting around with friends makes you happy, that's nothing you need lot's of money for. Only friends. And friends can't be bought, otherwise they wouldn't be friends (my opinion).
When I buy things I like I'm happy for a while, but that feeling vanishes usually very quickly. I prefer hanging out with friends to feel happy. So for me the answer is: No, money can't buy me happiness.

I don't have a lot of money but I don't worry about stuff money related. I don't see a reason to worry about much anyway. If there's a problem I can solve there is no need to worry and if I can't solve it: worrying won't help either. So no reason to worry in the first place ;-)

Bottom line is every body is materialistic and shallow, the more money you have the more stuff you can buy, therefore everybody loves money.
That's very cynical. And not correct.

I've seen people with just enough money to get by be happy, and I also hear about millionaires committing suicide.

This is not a simple yes or no question, all of you are being overly simplistic here. Look at Maslow's hierarchy of needs, money can buy physiological things and safety. Without those things you wont be happy, but if you already have those, then money can't take you any further. The problem is that once you reach a level, you automatically want the next one. So the correct answer is that money can buy you happiness indirectly to a certain degree.

To a certain extent, it can. But there is only so much you can buy with money.

Yes, yes it can. At the very least, a really good looking immitation of happiness, which most people can't differ from the real fun.

Money cannot buy happiness.
But seeing as I'm not going to live forever, I wouldn't mind renting happiness for my whole lifespan.

Still, I think we can all agree that having money is better than not having money.

Yes and no. If I had so much money that I didn't have to worry about survival then it would leave me with time to do the things that do make me happy.

So kind of.

Money can buy you only material possessions, but in my opinion, having the friends that I do now makes me happier.
