A friend of mine recently asked me to make hime a mixed tape of classical music and rap, I've got the rap music down but I've only got 4 classical songs "In the Hall of the Mountain King" "Ride of the Valkyries" "Fur Elise" and "Saber Dance".

So I just need some more good classical songs, let me know what your favorites are and I'll check them out.

EDIT: Wow, this is really nice stuff, I've finished the CD, but keep up the posts, I'm really diggin it.

You can't go wrong with any of Beethoven's symphonies.

also adding Mozart's Don Giovanni. Gotta have some opera.

augh, sorry, one more, a piece from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet ballet.

Not just a conductor, but also an artist and composer; Leonard Bernstein. Genius.

Classical guitar? Andres Segovia.

Instrumental, operatic, or just..anything classical? Because I personally would recommend the Opera "Carmen" (Which does exist in an instrumental form performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, I believe), as most of the more well-know classical composers have already been mentioned (Bach, Chopin, Mozart, Vivaldi, Beethoven). I would also suggest Tchaikovsky:
or

EDIT: Aw, Tchaikovsky was mentioned too.

My favorite is Vivaldi so I would naturally recommend Four Seasons. Here are some other good compositions:

Pachelbel's Canon (most likely you've heard this for a wedding already)
Rossini - Barber of Seville
Mozart - Symphony No. 40
Mozart - Piano Concerto No. 21
Bach - Air, Suite No. 3 in D Major

These are just tastes of much broader works. If you like any individual style, I recommend you look up some of their other stuff too.

Rachmaninoff's piano concertos are brilliant.

I've been listening to quite a bit of Bach lately.

Personally, I love the overture to Zampa by Ferdinand Herold.

Also, be sure to check out some of Franz von Suppe's work!
