So I have a huge Flatron monitor in the front part of my house that my dad uses for his computer to watch like a tv. And I decided to see if I can hook my xbox 360 up to it, I know it has the YPbPr or whatever ports in the back along with an HDMI port, thing is... I don't think sound will come off the monitor, it doesn't have speakers.

So I was wondering if I can buy some speakers that I can put the audio wires in and use the HDMI for video?

OR, I can try the YPbPr, but the thing is, the holes are small/thin and gold. I never saw anything like that before? Where can I get wires like that?

So people of the Escapist, could I get some help?

Yes, you can run only the HDMI for video. Technically the HDMI carries both audio and video, but it's not a problem if you run the audio separately. You just need to ensure the Xbox connector has a separate audio out.

The other option would be if the monitor has an audio out port. If so you can attach the speakers to the monitor and not worry about the Xbox connector.

As for the YPbPr, this is still only going to give you video, so you would need the Xbox adaptor. Sounds like the monitor has a mini-set. You would likely need a separate adaptor. Never seen one myself, but I'm sure they exist.
