I'd like to meet admiral Hackett face to face. Apparently he has even supported Shep even in his Cerberus days so it would be cool to meet him once. Also, I want Kal'Reegar as a squadmate. He's awesome.

I don't really care if they show Tali's face or not. If they do, I'll get used to it. If they don't, my imagination will live on. Seriously, adapt people.

The fact that only his face doesn't appear at the SB's terminal annoyed me. Seriously, he's an admiral, it's not hard.

Yeah, if you see the terminal at shadow broker's base, there's this really long letter to the admiral, suggesting locking up Shepard for 'friendly' interrogation, and that she'd be released in a mere 9 months. Hackett replies with just 2 words: "Request Denied".

Scenery porn, lots of it. Mass Effect 2 had me gaping a couple of times (especially the DLC), I'd like some more of that.
This fo' sure, making a planet bland when every environment and an entire galaxy worth of design is at your fingertips is a real god damn acheivement, and somehow Vioware pulled it off in some places, ala ME1 planets. More of the awesome DLC aesthetics would be lovely.

If BioWare has that last exchange in the third game, and throws in Tali's (or any quarian's) face, I will die a happy man.
If this is in game, I will be unreasonable for the next 9 months as I refuse any other game to be considered for my personal GotY. I would go as far as to say my life would be complete and I could go Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon style off a bridge.

OT: I think the romance is going to work better. Think about it, all the romances have been established already, All the "I'm being nice so you wuv me" in advance is already done. The arbitrary sex scene while travelling to the end place has been done. If they do it right, the romance can be done much better this time. And it better be. Then again, my shepard went with Liara, I'm in no condition to complain. And my Shepard's relationship is actually meaningful.

Hackett appears in the ME2 DLC package "The Arrival"

You see his face when the mission is introduced, and you talk to him in person at the end once you complete the mission.

My first hope is that you have to make a choice between a Pro-Council solution to the Reapers and a Pro-Cerberus solution, a decision that requires you to kill half your teammates near the end-game: if you side with Cerberus, you'll need to kill Garrus, Tali, Samara, Liara, Mordin, etc; if you side with the Council, you'll have to kill Jacob, Miranda, Dr. Chakwas, Kelly Chambers and Joker. I threw in Chambers and Joker because I think a lot of people would react to having to choose between full squad members with "Wait, I get to save the galaxy AND kill Jacob and Miranda?! SIGN ME UP!"

The early information about the game mentioning that Cerberus is your enemy has me worried. I wouldn't mind having Cerberus as an enemy, but I'd prefer it if I could choose to side WITH them instead, and not have a plot-convenient betrayal force the issue.

4: What they do with the Kinect in the 360 version, This intriques me the most about Mass Effect 3, just what are they planning to do with the kinect in this game and while I'm not too optimistic that it will be full control with the kinect (that would be sweet as hell) but I am curious to see what they do with it.

I'm hoping that the OST for Mass Effect 3 will be as great as the first two.
A big part of Mass Effect, for me, was the music, Jack Wall did a terrific job with
the first Mass Effect and especially the second. Chris Lennertz also did a great job composing
the OST for the DLC's.

I'm sure Clint Mansell will not disappoint.

At this point, after reading the "10 facts you should know about the Mass Effect universe but aren't interesting enough for the games", can I have my choices just affect the world I play in? If I get one more email, I will rage so hard...

And there should only be one Mary Sue/Gary Stu in the games. Her/His name is Commander Shepard.

I do like the idea of the "romantic scenes" not being at the end of the game, but I kind of get why they are. They make those scenes as incentive to play (Not THE sole incentive, of course.) It's just treated like a "reward".

At the expense of realism, though. I guess.

As mentioned, Shep/Liara still feels pretty real.

It was only very recently that I jumped onto the Mass Effect bandwagon. Now it stands as easily one of my favourite series of all time, and I'm getting excited for the third one. It's obviously far too late for me to make what amounts to an open letter of what I want, so I'm just listing off what I'm hoping they've already done.

1. That quarians aren't all innocuous. I'm not asking to go around killing a bunch of Tali clones, but god forbid a quarian down on his luck is actually guilty of stealing. In Mass Effect 2 we finally see some quarians who aren't Tali, and that's great. But why is it that every time we see one, they're always some guiltless individual who has been wronged in some way?

For example, there's this one quarian girl in the Citadel being held by the authorities on the grounds that she allegedly stole some volus guy's credit chit. Without hestitation you're supposed to find the chit that the volus guy must have dropped. And then once you prove the quarian's innocence, the cop ends up being even more of an asshole by telling her "don't do it again", to which you can perform a Paragon action to tell him to stop being a dick.

I just don't understand why everyone in the galaxy hates quarians and yet they're all basically saints to begin with. You know why I and just about everyone else went with Tali? Because BioWare decided to make quarians some kind of awesome super-race that we're meant to pity and stand up for at every waking moment. At least one quarian who isn't a paragon of excellence would be nice.
If you're really into ME, read the books; there are some screwed up quarians in them. Plus, while the books are by NOOO means decent literature, they are all fun and short reads.

OT: As I just mentioned, I hope there are at least casual nods to the books' continuity: be it characters/events/whatever. I also hope that my infiltrator can make proper use of his stealth capabilities - maybe by telling the squadmates to take point or stay in cover so I can sneak in all crazy like and scout out the situ and maybe some intel recovery before they notice me? I don't know, I'm just spit balling

I got a few of them for free during the free comics day thing that was going on. But due to the lag (probably) I didn't get one of them. And I'm not too keen on spending $2.00 for what amounts to a 5-minute read on a digital copy.

Would be nice if each character had different requirements to be able to romance them. For example, you're way more likely to get Jack's attention if you're a real hardcore renegade.

I noticed that when I chose to destroy the entire Collector mothership every single squad member thought I did the right thing... why? Are you seriously telling me that no one actually thinks that we would have been better off keeping the mothership for research?

Part of the whole "moral choice" thing should be that you can't make everyone happy. Hell, by doing what I did I potentially jeopardized the entire resistance against the Reapers. You're telling me that someone like Mordin cares more about the dignity of the humans who were used to build the Reaper [embryo] than the safety of the galaxy? Isn't that the entire point of the genophage, but with the krogan instead of humans?
I think Mordin and Legion both express mild skepticism at the paragon choice. However, my theory is that your crew is pretty well verse in the dangers of indoctrination, therefore, there really is only one 'right' choice. I mean, who wants to have to fight a bunch of indoctrinated Cerberus agents...oh...wait...

From what I've seen this game looks nigh perfect, but there i one request that I have to stamp on the face of the CEO's of Microsoft, Bioware, EA, and for laughs, Nintendo.

WREX, WREX, WREX, WREX, WREX AS A PARTY MEMBER!

And now that he's the leader of the most powerful Krogan clan, christ! Imagine the guns he'll pull out of his hump!

Better loading screens... Maybe put codex entries I haven't read yet up there. <-I actually like that idea.
That's a brilliant idea! It'd make a lot of people read more of them, too. Also, it'd look less weird to my housemates since I wouldn't be stopping to spend 15 minutes reading codex pages every now and again...

All I'm asking is that the ending doesn't involve any crappy 'we need the power of hope/love/heart/children's card games to defeat the reapers' bullshit at the end. Also that the ending doesn't go all 'Now wait for ME4!' on us.
no i have a good idea whats gonna end up killing the reapers but i dont know how to do spoilers very well(only works half the time) so i wont post it here, but it will come down to one choice that will ether bite you in the ass or pull it out of the fire.
It's a hypothesis; you don't even need to spoiler it. Unless you happen to work for Bioware's writing staff, that is?
im not part of the staff but lets just say i make very good guesses and leave it at that as i cant really say much more.

I'm a sucker for romance, so i'm hoping for romance that consists of a bit more than:

Do quest, Receive sex.
and not just before the very last mission
for example: I got my female Shepherd and Garrus to hook up in ME2 (been wanting to from the moment they first met in ME1... wow that sounded like a tacky romance novel... sorry!) If their not together at the begining of ME3 I'll be most put out!
I'm hoping to see some sort of Epic battle between Garrus and Kaiden for my shepard's love.
now that sounds good, imagine it if you will:
you've just had a mission briefing with the team and dismissed them when Kaiden come across with a box of chocolates, not to be out done Garrus produces flowers and champagne!

- I want to see Wrex charging headlong into battle at the head of his united Krogan hoard. No really, I want to see that lovable, grumpy, scarred old man kicking arse on an unprecedented scale.

- I want to see the fully massed strength of the Geth rallied behind my Shepard.

- I want to get some Quarians and Geth in the same room and paragon their arses into a peace agreement.

- I want to see Jack getting primal and ruining some poor bastard's day.

- I want to meet up with Kasumi, Grunt and Samara at some point. (That's excluding characters that have already been confirmed.)

- I want to get that one Turian in a room with a window overlooking a vista of Reapers engaged in an immense wrecking of the shit. I want to be able to turn to him and say, "Oh look, are they "Reapers" I see?"

- I want to see the Rachni again, and I want it to be awesome.

- I want tragedy. I want to see lives lost and entire civilizations torn asunder. I want beloved characters to die unavoidable deaths... except Liara, no killing Liara. Actually, scratch that. They can kill Liara but only if the scene is sad enough to reliably make me cry.

...

Yeah, that'll do for starters.

I would have a list of gameplay-related stuff, but from what I've seen in terms of gameplay previews, I'm entirely content with where ME3 is going in that department.

If by power the developers mean "extremely large" and by "of hope" they mean "fucking gun" then I think things will turn out okay. And I don't think they'll pull that shit. It seems they have more respect for the series than to drag it out longer than necessary. I hope. *fingers crossed*

I'm sure we're going to see something of that scale. What I'm hoping for is for BioWare to continue the tradition of making it feel like it matters. Watching people die is one thing, but if all it is is some kind of phoned-in shot of people dying it's not going to hold a lot of water. After I gave the order for the Alliance to defend the Destiny Ascension, I felt genuinely sad and yet proud (to the point where I was simultaneously shedding a tear and saluting my PC monitor) of my people sacrificing their lives for the council.

If any main characters die in Mass Effect 3, it MUST be a really awesome death. I either want them to go down fighting to save many (like Kaiden or Ashley in ME1) or some kind of really sad scene. And after their death, I want to feel it resonate across my whole crew. Again, like in ME1.

Yeah, I was worried they might screw something up but it looks legitimately good.
