Soul Calibur 3. I wasn't horribly wrong to want it, but the console version was severely disappointing.
Games are fun when the CPU perfect guards every goddamn blow!

I could forgive the game's every other flaw if not for that one, yes.

I had heard so much about Galactic Civilisations II, that when I played it my reaction was "...is that it?" It's not bad, but I think the hype killed it for me.

Well, when Ocarina of Time came out, I had never played a Zelda game before, so I didn't really think it was so great when I heard about it. I distinctly remember my friends were talking about it, and they mentioned the fishing. I, being a big jerk, jumped into the conversation going "Oohhhhh, fishing. Woah, that's awesome. That sounds like fun. Fishing!!!"

They weren't too amused. One of my friends told me that I should just give the game a try then. I was like "Psh, fine. I'm not about to turn down a free game." since he was lending me his copy.

Two weeks later, I returned to him a very thoroughly played game, as a very humbled gamer.

Ironically enough, I had a lot of fun fishing too....

I remember reading reams of rave reviews for Yoshi's Story on the N64. I bought it, and I have never before been so appalled at my use of $100AUS. I was so certain it'd be great, but it turned out to be a kiddy game which took all of three hours to beat, unless you count getting all the melons, which no one in their right mind would waste time collecting.

I bought Civilization Revolution.... i have no idea why, it looked cool.

It sucked. Hard.
I know how you feel. The demo was so good, I couldn't stop myself! And now look, I'm stuck with a stupid game I hate.
Wtf was with the turn limit! After i nuked Ghandi to hell, i couldnt make another nuke, and then eventually the game ended. What the hell, i dont know if there was a way to fix this, but i didnt care, and i threw the game to the far corner of the shelf and havent opened it since.

I thought CoD WaW was going to be terrible, and refused to play it.
However having played it I see it's actually not bad, even though it's pretty much the same as CoD4 but with different guns/maps.

The same with Rainbow Six Vegas. I just couldn't be bothered with it, but it's actually pretty good. Even if the so called "realistic" difficulty is bullshit-o-matic.

The Phantom Hourglass. One of the most disappointing, annoying and confusing games I've ever played.

Actually, "Fate" looked childish and easy, but it turned fun fast. [/deliberate misunderstanding]
