Omg yes; I thought I was the only person that felt that way about water. I HATE water levels in games. I've STOPPED playing games (even fucking PLATFORM games) because the thought of all that open space and gigantic sharks and shit swimming out of the darkness at me is just terrifying.

condemned 1 and 2 in the first one you walk into a room you blink and a horde of dummies is in front of you that made me pee my pants and in condemned 2 where you run through a lodge with grizzly bear after you that was intense

aliens vs predator, i played and completed the alien section of the game, but the marine section....the first time i saw a facehugger, i paused, click quit and never played it again. call me whatever you like but i saw what happened when those bastards got too close to you as a kid.

Ambiance is the key factor in any horror videogame.
The music sets the mood the lighting and visibility of the levels heightens the tension you feel while moving around, and hearing the enemies moving around before you see the always puts me on edge.
