What horror game, or horror game idea, or design, or whatever THING related to horror games would you like to see become a reality.

I'm thinking a Slenderman game. That'd freak me the hell out. It's like amnesia. You run around a house, solve puzzles, catch a glimpse of an arm or maybe a shadow of him, have no weapons, and just try to survive and get out of, say, a forest littered with large houses. By the end of the game, you see him in full form, and then have one last run away before making it to safety.

I'd like to see more actual horror. Less surprises.

BOO I'M A ZOMBIE LOL

Isn't a horror game. We need more creepy unknowns imo.

A game were there are no weapons, only hiding and running. The problem in horror games is that generally you know you can kill everything with a couple of bullets.

That isn't a decent followup to an already existing franchise? (New eternal darkness, PLEASE)

How about a medieval horror game that takes place in a castle, this castle has been cursed and is digging into your subconscious, finding what you fear, and exploiting that.

Indeed, but I would see little replay unless its like a realistic open world game where your only goal is to survive on what you can find.

I've always wanted Harvest Moon to be a bit more edgy, so...

Harvest Moon: The Undying Lands

Be careful who you woo...they might want more than just your affections...

Day One, Spring: the carpenter comes down with more than just a cold...

Day 54, Winter: the village isn't safe at night.

I think its about time we saw another H.P. Lovecraft themed game. Perhaps a co-op RPG based on the arkham horror boardgame?

I'd like a game where everything was just subtly off. Maybe that clock you removed the batteries from an hour ago has advanced a few minutes while you werent looking. Maybe you could have sworn that you picked up that quarter, but now its sitting on the table again. Maybe that portraits eye's were a different color the last time you looked at it. No overt scares, but just a general creeping sense of something being not quite right with the game world

For the purposes of suspense and immersion, I'd want a game where you play a child being hunted by an adult psychopath... or a group of psychopaths. The player character would be winded easily, slightly uncoordinated, unable to operate any but the most simple of weapons (and lack the muscle mass to effectively employ said simple weapons)... I'm thinking something like the scenario from the "Home Alone" movies... only serious, gritty and suspenseful. Not a clever, carefree child against idiotic criminals, but a terrified, clever child against irrational raging criminals.

This may sound like I'm just stealing the good bits from all my favourite horror titles, but bear with me:
A first person survival horror game. Alot of the game would be in dark (in some cases pitch black) settings with a flashlight being your only means of sight.
No "sanity-metre" crap would be featured, however staying in the dark for too long is obviously ill-advised.
In order to provide the player with a sense of weakness there would be barely any combat possible against enemies other than barely effective melee combat, firearms are available but have a possibility of attracting more enemies. Fleeing is often the best course of action, but is by no means guaranteed to work, as the enemies are quite fast and able to kill you very easily. There would also many puzzling traps that can cause instant death, however they would have to be designed and placed accordingly so as to not be annoying.
It would balance jolts and terror with tension and atmosphere.
Enemy spawn points would be varied/random and it would be possible for an enemy to spawn behind you and to stalk you. It would be possible for you to sense the monsters, however the player would have to really pay attention and listen for phantom footsteps and other barely audible noises to sense the enemy presence. If an enemy should overcome the player from behind, a brief quick-time event would either damage the player greatly or give them a head start in fleeing from the monster.
And to save typing, it would have to channel the spirit of the atmosphere and well designed characters and monsters from Silent Hill 2.

Hrm, perhaps a game based on 28 days later.

Incorporate survival horror elements from older Resident evil games with the puzzles
Weapon crafting from dead rising 2 and improved upon
Fast hordes akin to Left 4 dead
Difficulty akin to Demon souls.

Have the player go through a mandatory, very extensive and photo-realistic character customization menu. Maybe they could even upload a picture to ensure accuracy.

Then, deform the hell out of it. Slowly, and painfully, turn them into a cthuluesque monster, leaving just enough of their original avatars characteristics to be recognizable and have them alternate between brutal life or death struggles against more dangerous, disturbing creatures and desperate evasion of said monsters in their human form. This would be in first-person and involve platforming and puzzles, with a twist:

Like in Lovecraft, if your character so much as glimpse at one of the horrors, they go insane.

A man finds himself having horrible nightmares every night. He has become so tramitized by these dreams he dosen't understand that he refuses to leave his home. He dosen't have too much food, he's going to loose his job soon, and he's afraid to call for help.

So his only choice is to go into his mind. You play as him going through his dreams, where anything can happen. The world can shift, twist, and manipulate as you play, causing a sense of insanity and lost control. The creatures can evolve and become stronger because of the players confusion (your running, a floor becomes a wall, you turn around and see all the doors are now turned into a bridge, the monsters get wiereder and more powerful). At first your only defences it to throw objects at them, screaming at them, and commanding them to stop. But as you build confidence you start to have more strength, using the power of your dreams against the monsters.

:D

Me like it.

Sounds a little bit like Clocktower, but I like it.

An survival horror game set under water. And I don't mean in an underwater city like Rapture, I mean in the actual water. The player character would be in a scuba suit. Just you, an oxygen tank and the deep blue sea. And down in those dark depths something large is moving about.

Of course, if someone were to make this it would probably only sell a dozen copies.

Oh well.

I don't know if this counts, but there is a horror game online about a man who goes down in a scuba suit to find a cure to a zombie infection. He has to fight zombies, collect slugs, and also deep with a demon fish creature.
