Well, I guess this was a good idea after all. I usually try to avoid watching trailers for horror movies, but reading the summaries on imdb, most of these sound really good. I don't know most of these movies except for Tokyo Gore Police, Audition and a few others. I'm positive I saw TGP during one horror movie marathon in college years ago, but Audition has been buried under a lot of other movies on my "watchlist" for so long I forgot about it completely.

Well, I dunno what you specifically want, like if you're into classic Clive Barker (Hellraiser movies) or John Carpenter (The Thing), for instance.
I'll watch almost anything, really, I don't have standards. Having said that, I'm familiar with the Hellraiser movies but never seen one. But since you asked, I have a soft spot for movies that take place in confined spaces*, think spaceships, space stations, tunnels, caves, etc; or movies set in an old house/hotel/hospital. Most of the time I don't care if the villain is a ghost, zombie, monster, demon or a maniac with a chainsaw, but the less I see of it, the better. As I get older, though, I'm starting to dislike torture porn movies like Saw, Hostel and shit like that.

*while we're on the subject, why can't we have more horror movies on a boat? I can only think of two, Triangle and Ghost Ship, which I know it's bad but I still like it.

Anyone seen 'Rabies'? It touts itself as 'the first Israeli horror film', and if you don't mind subtitles it's a great little film with a novel spin. See also 'Big Bad Wolves' by the same directors.

If you like horror on a boat, I personally really like 'Deep Rising'. It doesn't take itself too seriously and it's a good laugh.

Horror- my favorite bloody wheelhouse!

For a fun if not random sampler, I'd recommend V/H/S and V/H/S2. Both are collections of varied horror stories that left me entertained.

I also enjoyed Grave Encounters and Grave Encounters 2- again, just a fun series, kinda fluffy, but entertaining.

For a surprisingly gory retro 80s flick, I loved The Blob remake.

Just some lighter-hearted ideas, anyways.

EDIT: Just to cover my less humourous /camp bases, bases, The Thing, In the Mouth of Madness and Prince of Darkness are all excellent horror movies. I also really liked Stephen King's The Mist- it is definitely horrifying.

Well, take many of our recommendations to heart, and then add...

The Cube Trilogy - Picture a cube-shaped room that has a door leading out of it on every surface. You open any of the doors to find that they lead to identical-looking cube-chambers. You don't know where you are or how you got here, you may not even remember who you are, but you know this: Some of the rooms in here kill people. These movies were great and pretty original an idea. They're a bit sci-fi, but a series of chambers trying to kill you counts as horror too, in my opinion.

The Blob (1988) - Remake of the old film about a gelatinous creature from space preying upon the people in town. More modern, more graphic, properly horrifying.

The Tremors Movies - Good campy monster movies involving the sightless worm-like creatures that reach out from underneath the ground, grab you, and eat you.

Eight Legged Freaks - All you need to really know is that it's a movie about giant spiders.

Oh, and if you want a good set of classic movies, try Vincent Price.
