I laughed when watching a holocaust movie in school once. I feel really bad about it now.
I did too, but not at the film itself. I was just drifting off in my own head and ended up thinking about a certain dancing panda from my childhood... don't ask.

OT: No, it's not wrong to laugh at horror movies. Unintentional comedy is half of the reason I ever watch them any more.

The Final Destination series makes its money on this whole premise, that death is funny. Girl trips on a gymnastics routine and breaks her neck? Funny. Guy gets head squashed by a buddah statue? Hilarious. Guy gets his guts ripped out by a pool filtration system? Laugh riot!

Of course they can. I mean, I was in hysterics over A Serbian Film and just how bad it is, so why wouldn't horror movies be funny.

Are you kidding? What movie was it?
Most horror movies are actually pretty bad, so I'm not that surprised. The characters almost always act in a stupid manner, so it's difficult to not laugh when they get horrifically murdered.

Have you tried watching videos of people getting scared? Try watching this without laughing:

Besides it's not like people are actually dying. Don't take it so seriously.

Horror movies ARE funny. It's all so ridiculous and over the top how can they not be? Truly scary movies aren't, but the average slasher flick? Priceless.

As a side comment you might want to look into better grammar, could barely understand you.

Jeepers Creepers? You can't watch that film without laughing at how badly made it is...

That movie doesn't even belong to the category "it's so bad it's good". That movie is so bad it makes you wanna kick things...
I particularly remember the third one (Dream Warrior?) being a great laugh. Not sure why but then again it's been quite some time.

Horror movies? Cause you can laugh i mean half of them are plain dumb the other half often die in silly ways or because of their own lack of intellect.

I have a friend who laughed when Gandhi got shot in that one film.
The teacher took him outside and screamed herself hoarse, so I think he achieved the intended effect.

It happens. Laughter is my general reaction to things that are over the top in some way or another.

I laugh if the death just seems funny to me. Most executions where somebody is crying and begging for their lives and they get shot in the head, I won't laugh, because I don't think it's funny.

But then you get some random schmuck just getting squashed by something or hit by a car and I can't help but laugh my ass off. Recent memory comes to mind, I laughed during Contagion when the poor asian fellow steps out into the street all delusional and sick and he gets hit by a van. I was the only person that laughed and i'm sure everybody was giving me dirty looks :p

But films like Evil Dead or Brain Dead are meant to be laugh at!
Ok even if that horror isn't tongue in check there isn't wroung at laughing at it especially if it was the character own fault for getting him or herself killed like that.

I remember seeing the Grudge and laughing my ass of when a woman turned around and her lower jaw was missing. I mean, she was just standing there, in a generic abandoned hallway, waiting for someone to turn her around so she could gurgle at them for a second before probably dropping dead? movie wasn't to clear on that.

Also some weird movie about the twelf plagues occuring in some backwater town in the US.....It was almost emberassing how bad that movie was. And the main character was a female mythbuster without any likeability and a tragic backstory that only gets explained in flashbacks whenever the movie feld like it. Add a generic evil cult and boy did it suck.

It's fiction, I don't think there's a "wrong" way to react to it.
I can't quite think of any slasher flick that isn't hilarious since they're mostly just parades of unlikable characters getting slaughtered in ridiculous ways.
The final destination movies are more comedy than serious horror movie too.

Dunno didn't watched it, but if you say that it's a good laugh I'll probably rent it and get some friends lol

It's been some time so I'm not entirely sure but as far as I remember it got funnier in the later films.
