Oh, and I'm not currently boycotting any publishers.
I want to add that refusing to buy anything from a publisher is stupid. You aren't going to let publishers no what business practices you're okay with if you just flat out refuse to buy any of their shit. My rule of thumb is that if a publisher releases a game with horrific DRM or something like that, to not buy the game. However, if they release a game that doesn't have this shit, and it's a game I actually want, I'll get it. Not only does this support good business practices, but it means you don't miss out on as much shit as if you were to try to boycott.

Anyway, on-topic, I rarely buy games that aren't on sale for ridiculously cheap. I can stand to wait until games get cheap, and this usually means I end up getting to play more games. It's a win-win for me, but apparently I'm "devaluing the intellectual property" or some bullshit like that.

Steam sales. I buy shit for cheap even when my current computer can't hack it, cause MONEY. I use to bash Elder Scrolls fans for hating and bemoaning changes, but now I'm doing it for Dark Souls 2 (and it might just be here-say). Fast travel? Just ignore it, you whiners.

Then I heard easy mode and grabbed up my guns.

I am actually purchasing, playing, and enjoying new games that are coming out. Crazy, I know, but it is true. I am the dastardly one, aren't I? :3

Well, I wait for everything on Steam to be on a sale of 50% or more until I buy it (if it's priced over 20).
Other than that, I don't really know. I tend to buy innovative products and games from independent developers because I have become bored of a lot of the things present in big name products. Also, if you exhibit principles that I don't agree with (such as Indie dev Phil Fish or the company Ubisoft with their DRM) then I won't be purchasing or playing your product.

I sleep bloody fine at night, thank you very much.

I love Dark Souls. Which if you believe a fairly recent thread on here makes me a pissy, entitled twat. I resent their implication, but w/e. :)

I...don't judge my buying trends on whether they were made by a soulless publisher, thus stunting the indie market from really gaining a foothold to start to take down the behemoths? I buy game sequels to games I liked without question, no matter what hype gets out about it being good or bad. I want the return of cheats, local co-op of the two people one couch variety, and I rent or borrow new IP, unless it's on sale to the point where the developer isn't really making anything off of my purchase.

I may actually feel a little bad about the last one.

Acording to glorious master race is by buying games for consoles.

Personally I don't think so, bar some lightning details, PC and console games look practically the same from my couch on my TV screen. Except that I can play console games from my couch because I'm not chained in front of a desk. /angry fist

As in ArsTechnica's article about that 4k res RED stuff:

It may be the best thing since sliced bread when you stick your face to the TV, but from comfortable position is all the same - Dupscaled 720p on consoles VS true 1080p and with AA and bla bla on PCs.

And most of the time I buy Single Player games for 20 euros or less (used or classic re-realease) - yeah developers might not get money, but when Skyrim or Dark Souls last over 200 hours for the same price compared to your 8-16 hour long game... No way I'm paying the full price for that. Charge or design your game acordingly...

Queue a thousand PC fanboys screeching and pointing like Body Snatchers, then saying "you can hook up a PC to your TV, stupid console fanboy, RAAGERABBBLLLEEE!!!!"

Yeah, I'm allegedly the worst thing to happen to the game industry because I can't fork over $600+ towards a "decent gaming PC" every two years.

"You play on a console? OMG!!! Stop holding the industry back, fanboy!!!!"

Getting really sick and tired of having to put up with that. Want me to get a PC and "stop holding the industry back"? Then by all means send me the money to buy a gaming PC. Aren't willing to do that? Then shut the &^%* up!

I don't have wealthy parents, or a cushy job, so I can't afford a gaming PC. Get over it.

Absolutely nothing, though I guess I'm not doing anything to advance it either but then I don't work in the industry so the chances of me advancing the industry are slim.

Generally I buy the games I like and ignore the ones I don't. This method seems to be working out very well so far.

I don't like voice acting. I don't care about flashy graphics. I don't like the movie-fication of games. I don't like shoehorned-in romance in RPGs (Mass Effect / Dragon Age style). I don't like facebook games, or any kind of facebook integration. I despise the vast majority of DLC. These opinions affect my (lack of) game purchases.

Yippee! I'm afraid of the future!

I shop at Gamestop and get my games used. For what its worth though, steam is really competing for my attention.

I still find the typical sexy game characters (the unrealistic, big boob and eye candy etc) to be appealing instead to be against it (if you hate it, fine by me but I'm still going to leer at it).

I have never bought DLC or a downloaded a game.

I've waited for a few "complete" editions Arkham City and Saints Row.

EDIT: I'm also a filthy console peasant.

I sometimes buy EA and Activision games. I believe the best games are older and the newer ones will be more and more shit. I collect PS1 and 2 games and think that those were the golden years and scream at studios on facebook for being stupid. I also have a hard time being angry at Sony.

Lets see here, I buy AAA games including the ones from EA/Activision, I love Bioware, I enjoy "brown" games like CoD and GoW, I shop at Gamestop frequently, both buying used games and trading in my old ones, I buy DLC, I don't give two shits about the majority of DRM,I use Origin, I hate digital distrobution in general (including Steam), I own consoles, I dislike extremely hard games like Dark souls, and "art" games that are bigger on "meaning" then actual gameplay, Oh and I'm almost always refuse to call games "racist" or "sexist" because I care much more about descriptors like "fun" or "not fun" . So basically I am the gaming anti-Christ. (by certain people's standards)
