how awesome would a call of cthulhu movie directed by David lynch be

He might pick it up after 'The Hobbit', so we have to be patient for a couple of more years..

To pass the time, we'll have to make do with B-movie adaptions, musicals and silent movies .

Musicals? What the... Happy singing flowerpeople and Chuthulu in one go? That would just be beyond madness...

The evil of the Old Ones is beyond our comprehension..

Though if you replace 'flowerpeople' with 'Shoggoths', and the happy singing with 'the happy sound of live-skinning', you might get close ;-P. To be honest though, I have yet to dare to listen to one .

There's a group of Cthulhu enthusiasts, called the 'HP Lovecraft Historical Society' that makes a lot of Lovecraft media-adaptations; including the silent movie I mentioned in an earlier post. They're quite faithful to the original stories.

I know, I've seen the Call of Chuthulu one. Quite enjoyable actually. Really liked the fact that they only used technology available at the time of writing.

I'm not so sure a film about the big guy would be such a great idea, He is scarey but doesn't interest me enough to make a film about.

David Lynch is so much better than that Lovecraftian stuff that it would be a waste of his time. I agree that Uwe Boll would be a better choice.

If Uwe Boll is going to make a movie about it, it might prove that the 'Old Ones' actually exist; not a single sane creature should suffer the mental atrocities for which he's able to unleash..

These guys really wanted to make it as authentic as possible. They're making another one adapted from 'The Whisperer in Darkness' and they'll the same style as used with 'Call of Cthulhu'.

I believe Guillermo Del Toro is interested in making a movie based off 'At The Mountains of Madness'. Having looked at his previous creature designs, he might be the best director to make the madness real..

Why is Cthulhu the internet monster of choice? I didn't even know about it until i became an escapist member... can someone shed some light on this?

Not really sure why he's so popular over the internet either. I guess it has something to do with the fact that it's a cosmic monster that people worship and others kill themselves over because he's so terrifying. But HP Lovecraft has other stories like that so they could have just as easily gone with Dagon as they did Cthulhu. It also might have something to do with the fact that in Arabia, there's a fucking doomsday cult that worships Cthulhu.

I personally had no clue who HP Lovecraft was until someone told me my writing style was similar to his and then I decided to read his stuff and it is scarily similar to my style. 0_0
