My Video game collection is pretty small. I tend to sell all the games I have beaten. I don't tend to replay many games over and over again. Once I have beaten/seen the story/single player game, it is over for me. eBay rules for selling and buying games.

I'm definitely a minimalist. I only every have a couple games in my possession at any given time. I sell the ones i dont need anymore so i can buy newer ones. Besides i also use gamefly and they give you like two at any given time.

I have about 7- or 8 each for the wii and 360, and maybe about 15-20 ps2 games, as well as 11-12 ds games and 10 gba games. I don't really have a big collection, and I sell games that I never play

Give me a minute while I update my IGN collection page. I'm sure I have well over 200 by now... I'll post the link.

EDIT: http://club.ign.com/b/list/custom?lid=100018&owner=urza9995&mode=vown

Sorry, my estimate was low. I have 386 games, give or take a few...

Not big at all. 15 Max.

Both God of Wars, Xenosaga Series, FFX, FFX-2, FFXII, just to name some of my PS2

I have a bit more PSX, with mostly things like Legend of Dragoon, FFVII, ALL of the Tomb Raiders, and Soul Reaver.

PC wise, I just got that Portal game sent to me from a great friend cross - country, but I have the Tomb Raider Legends, along with UT2000, UT03/04.

Yeah. Not much. I'd love to get a Wii/.

Ah... I see what you did there. How's that working out for you? You know... being clever. (No, but seriously it totally made me click on this topic out of sheer morbid curiosity)

Boy, I've got about 8 Gameboy (Yes, Gameboy, not GBA or DS) games left, about ten N64 games, a dozen or so Xbox games, and 5 Wii games in my console collection. More importantly, my PC game collection stretches back over a decade and must include at least 35-40 games. Most of which were purchased new, like in the $40-$50 range.

Topics like this are kind of hard to discuss, because it often puts into perspective all the money I've sunk into video game over the course of my life...

If I like a game, I keep it, if I don't, I sell it. So, it depends on how many good games I buy a year. A surprisingly low number at times, and a surprisingly high number at others.

I used to have a bigger collection than I do now. I ran into a bit of a cash-flow issue a couple of years ago when I got married and moved in the same year (don't do that!). Talk about expensive! I wound up selling my PS2, Game Cube, Xbox and all the games for them but three or four of the Xbox games. I kept my DS and the games for it that I play regularly (about 20 DS and GBA games combined). Then, late last year, I was working at a electronics retailer that gives you big employee discounts for stuff so I used some of the money I saved from selling the above as well as a bunch of other non-gaming stuff, to get a Halo 3 Xbox 360 and a few games for it.

I also built my own PC from scratch and added a few more PC games to my huge PC game collection (numbering well over 200). I have a lot of PC games since you can't really trade them in anywhere and I have only recently found swap sites on the net that are reliable. A bunch of my games are from the DOS era and I don't play them anymore but can't bring myself to get rid of them. Even with the swap sites, it doesn't decrease my PC game collection since you swap one for one on the sites I use.

I now work at a different store that sells classic games and consoles mainly. I got a NES and SNES (all in one) console and am playing a bunch of games I haven't played since I used to play on my cousins' consoles as a kid. I've bought 3 (had to get Super Mario Bros. since it's my wife's favorite NES game, also bought two of my favorite SNES games: Defender 2 and Lost Vikings) so far and have been borrowing the rest from the store for free (employee perk). I got a good discount on the console and games too.

In the past, I have had a PS One that I got at a pawn shop along with a few games, but wound up selling it before one of my previous moves when I got my PS2.

The only console I've had for a long time is my Atari 2600 which I got when they first came out years ago. I have 26 games for it and am considering adding to that collection from the ones we have at the store.

I guess when it comes to consoles, I'm more of an upgrader than a collector until now. Now for some reason, I'm starting to get more into collecting old games.

My book collection on the other hand is huge. I've been collecting books since I was in grade school. I've lost count how many I have. Put it this way, I have 10 boxes of books in storage right now that are about twice the size of the box that the PS3 comes in that are clear full of books. I have a bookshelf in my apartment with at least 100 books on it.

You could say I read a lot.

On 1UP you can list all the games you have and it will tell you the total value of your collection according to current shop prizes.
Mine is over 15 000 $. It scares me.
Damn that's a lot, especially when taking in account that games lose their value so quickly. How many do you think you have in total (must be more then 1000 surely).

23 games that came in boxes, around 35 that came off the net or from other people.
So around 58 PC games all up.

How big is your game collection? Are you a hoarder or do you have a small collection of über games? Are you a completist who has to have all the games of one franchise or even all the games of one particular system?

I have a rather modest collection. My main collection consists of about 100 PC games. I also have a very small collection of Gameboy Advance and DS titles and about 15 PS2 games. Nothing special as you can see but my PC collection is growing very rapidly the last few months.
I'd say about 5 to 6 inches... wait, what's the topic?

Seriously though, my collection tends to fluctuate, sometimes I have a lot of games, most of them being older, cheaper games. When a game comes out that I want to get, but I'm broke, then I start to thin out my collection by trading in games I don't play anymore, just to probably buy most of them back later.

I haven't counted in ages, but a rough guess would be 200-250, not including the 60-odd titles I'm trying to sell right now. It's mostly because I buy lots of games dirt cheap (like yardsales, game clearances, and $5 last gen titles) and by the time I beat them (If I beat them) they're worth pennies, usually a dollar or less. Most of the time I'd rather keep it then have an extra .50 cents or whatever. For my systems, I'd guess I have about 15 Snes, 3 Nes, 12 Wii, 30 N64, 3 Virtual Boy, 25 Gameboy/Advance, 10 Ds, 30 Gamecube, 15 Genesis, 15 Saturn, 20 Dreamcast, 20 Ps2, 10 Playstation, 35 Xbox, and 25 Xbox 360 games.
