Enticing as it is, it wouldn't have been very satisfying. You fight your way up the mountain, through mercenaries and Guardians alike, you get your loot, and boom, the game's over? Even if they stuck a battle with Crimson Lance Albino Woman between you and your reward, it would have felt really anticlimactic.
The current ending, as bizarre and out of the blue as it was, at least stamped a big ol' "the end" on the game's story.

I personally would have preferred something other than a bike spikey minge to fight, like actually going into the vault and being able to actually kill that weird crimson lance *****. As a reward maybe something like making your own gun, like picking the optics, elemental effect ect.
How the feck did they manage that? It must be a mod surely? Or maybe thats four players. I can count four to five orange weapons in there, thats more then your likely to get in one playthrough!
When has anything that has been in myth and ledgend to hold wealth, power, etc. etc. When has something like that EVER had anything in it other then something horrible? Personaly I cannot think of a single instance. However back on topic as to an ending, I think the boss should have been harder, and actualy dropped something good.
