And yes, while Minecraft does contain violence, its not really comparable to, say, Doom, or GTA, which are go-to examples, whenever a discussion about violence in games pops up.
This is usually the case, but some people (generally, not pointing fingers here) genuinely can't enjoy or really understand violent media and every once in a while somebody asks for their opinion too. Nobody ever cares, though.

You could always stop trying to present insignificant trivial shit as a call for "war" and see how quickly the "war" dissipates into "teenage melodrama."
This. Unless the OP is a teenager too (and in that case they are just being part of the melodarama, I guess?)

"I don't think it's about more gun control," said Samuel L. Jackson, who stars as a conniving house slave in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming revenge fantasy "Django Unchained." "I grew up in the South with guns everywhere and we never shot anyone. This [shooting] is about people who aren't taught the value of life."

Parents and role models who emphasize that value, he said, will accomplish more than legislators reducing the number of firearms.

Bad Muthafucka gets it.

Bad Muthafucka doesn't realize than murders have been going down since he was a kid, which means that, quite obviously, they did in fact shoot some people.

Right... so guns were invented to just sit around the house, and not to take life.

If the "value of life" was something that everyone believed in, guns would not exist in any capacity.

Just waiting. In about two decades anyone so behind the times that they have a video game phobia has either died of old age or will be in a retirement home.

Too bad the Muthafucka has helped with fixing bad parenting and role models as much as with gun control...

Guns are used for other things, especially in the Southern US, which is what he's referring to. Hunting, target shooting, etc.

The rest of the time they serve as a sleep aid. As in people sleep better knowing they have a gun in the house for self-defense.
Even though the odds of someone breaking into one's house are very remote, and it will most likely never be needed, it still provides valuable peace of mind.

They pledged to never play them again! How many of these children will still hold on to that pledge when they get older?

I think if the female students found out there were video games about female space marines they would be empowered!

How can the gaming community fight stuff like this?
Nobody show them a copy of King Lear
