How can I turn off video autoplay on the Escapist site?

I like to open several tabs at once to read or watch later, buy every time I open a link to a video (like ZP) it starts playing automatically. And it's really annoying. Especially when I open more than one video at once.

How do I turn that feature off?
If it can't be done, then The Escapist web-designers should do something about it.

I use the Flashcontrol [https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/flashcontrol/mfidmkgnfgnkihnjeklbekckimkipmoe] extension though since they've stopped using Flash for video here it doesn't work anymore (still good for pretty much everywhere else, though). I added this extension [https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/disable-html5-autoplay/efdhoaajjjgckpbkoglidkeendpkolai] just now which appears to do the job here. Not sure what browser you're using but there are probably comparable alternatives. I don't think there is any native option.

If you're using the newer HTML player, you can press space to pause the video and use the arrows to go forward or back. That's all we know.

Unfortunately, this doesn't help if you just open tabs to view later (even if it's a minute later) - you still need to go to that tab to stop the video. This, by itself, is annoying enough but if you try to open several tabs with videos, it becomes a nightmare.
