We all probably had that feeling at one point. After seeing a good movie, comic, book, whatever, you think "They should make a game out of that!"
Then you wonder for a moment.

Some franchisees are easily transported into games. A game about Wolverine wouldn't be hard to imagine.
A game about Star Wars. Millions of concepts and ideas.

But what franchise can you think of that would really challenge a game studio. Keeping the idea intact that made the franchise iconic.

My challenge would be; Make a proper game of The Mask movie.
(I know there is a SNES game, but it was a generic platform game with the mask in it)

So, what would you challenge a game studio with?

Would never happen. Their budget wouldn't cover Cher to do the mo-cap and voice acting.

A Memento game would be stupidly hard to make. I'd love to see the same concept explored through a game, but I've no idea how it could work.

Reservoir dogs?
The movie is awesome but almost only discussion, so a 20hour game with only mulitiple choice answers and one quicktime event at the end?

A game in which you have to catch, feed, raise and breed...

Bonerfarts

I highly suspect the popularity of such a game will rise quickly giving birth to several off shoots of the game.

(Top that DVS BSTrD!)

I don't know, technology is farther along to make the Rocky Dennis character look legitimately like the character from the movie, just look at the tech they had for L.A. Noire when- This joke is over.

OT: I've always wanted to see a game of The Big Lebowski, but with the exception of the fight against the nihilists near the end and one amazing scene, I can't see it getting anywhere besides an pipe dream on a forum post.

Although, My dream has been kind of realized:

And the world is a slightly better place...for now.

The Expendables, because the story is far too complex to be entertaining.

There actually exists a Reservoir Dogs game, and it's a cover based third person shooter. But! The game measures how psychotic you are, so it's entirely possible to go through the game without killing anyone... or just go completely batshit. It's surprisingly good, and short enough to not get too repetitive.

A Wheel of Time RTS. It would be bloody hard to balance.
I'll say. I guess you could make it into a three-way competition ala Dune 2000 or Starcraft, though (Randland, Seanchan, Shadow).

Randlanders wouldn't have quite the variety of the others (no flying units like raken or draghkar, only basic cavalry plus Aiel) but still have Aes Sedai and Asha'man, plus some kind of homefield advantage.

Seanchan have a ton of variety plus damane but no channeling hero units (that they'll admit to), and a lower initial resource production base (until the Return, at least).

The Shadow would have a lot of variety of shadowspawn plus dreadlords and normal darkfriends, and myrdraal as command leaders, but maybe they'd require waygates to produce more shadowspawn (ala the Ordos or the Protoss), and no inherent navy beyond maybe darkfriend Sea Folk.

The Dresden Files? Maybe. It would be to difficut from a story point of view but interesting from a gameplay point of view as most of the time the main character, Harry dresden, while being a very powerfull Wizard is normaly fighting something more powerfull than him so he has to think his way out of fight using his powers in unexpected ways.

The world could be used for an mmo. Large, magical super powers trying to either keep the world safe, take over the world or destroy the world and their would be a lot of classes. Wizard(Good)/Warlock(Bad), 3 types of vampire (good vamepires not emo twilight vampires), Sidhe (super badass, super scary faries), shapeshifters, knights of the Cross (Holy warrior's of god each wielding one of three holy swords given to them by Archangels), the fallen (Angels who followed Lucifer) and if you are boring plain old mortals.

Here's an odd one: Trying turning "The Binding Of Isaac" into another genre.

Ooh, I can hear Fox News chomping at the bit as we speak, and hordes of gamers saying "What the heck IS this crap?"
