I used to use "SniperElite" a lot online, then I got the game Toribash. It only let you have a 10-letter name, so I melded them to become SnipErlite.

Mine is based on my Xbox live username, YO BAD MAMA.It was intentionly going to be YO MAMA so if you killed me it said "You killed YO MAMA" but, someone took it. So I decided puting BAD would be pretty funny. And I use it as my name everywhere I go, just I write it more civilized.(YO BAD MAMA being Xbox live, YoBadMama being everything else)
An old friend called me Dorkette all the time, and as the years went by it stuck. That name is always taken, so like all good internet users, I threw my d.o.b. on the end.

But more than that it came from an article I worked on for a local indy magazine. The article itself was about the weird consumer cult that springs up around video game consoles. The Artwork I used for the title page was a picture of Mario made to look like Chairman Mao Zedong. The Magazine editor was worried about the backlash behind making a familiar and beloved icon like Mario into a parody of a Communist leader not to mention the inherent political problems with insinuating that an Italian character must be a Communist.
So I took it back and remade the picture using Diddy Kong, That seemed to work a lot better.
