i came here because of critical miss! about a year ago i was pretty active in skyrim nexus forums. you know the site for mods for skyrim. then someone posted a critical miss comic there. the one about you doing things and the druagr training. i really liked the comic and saw the escapist logo on the bottom. so i googled it.i went through all of the critical miss comics at first then after like 5 weeks i started to watch the series. the first one was the nord mead that someone sent its link to me. that was awesome! i watched it like 15 times. then came the ZP at first i understood nothing of it(english is not my main language) then i created an account. i didnt post in forums for like two weeks and here i am!

ZP brought me here and it's the thing that keeps me going along with the forums, quizzes, LRR and JimQuisition occasionally.

I too was brought here by Zero Punctuation.

Specifically: 'Shurikens and Lightning'

That said, it took me a while after my friend showed me that video to look it up again. It wasn't until I watched his Demon'sssssssssssssss s Souls review that I was hooked, and came back for more.

Now I tend to check out Jimquisition and Feed Dump regularly, as well as the new Reel Physics, which is a brilliant idea. It's like Myth Busters without the explosions. :D

Like probably 99% of the people here, it was because of ZP.

Though I didn't find it myself. A friend linked me to one of the ZP videos.
This^^

Swear it's the same for everybody

Specifically I think it was the Bioshock review. Found it fucking hilarious at the time

Like almost everyone else here, I was brought here by ZP. One of the web comics I read had a link to his videos here(as well as Red vs Blue) and I've been watching them since. I don't remember which video of ZP was out at the time but I do remember the episode of RvB that was out at the time. I believe that episode 14 of Reconstruction had just been released so whatever episode of ZP was up at about that time is probably the first one I watched.

I don't remember, but I think it was via Zero Punctuation.

But, I'm alive because I did, so that's all I really want to know.

I am one of the 99%. My friend showed me ZP, I got hooked, I stayed. Took me about 3 years to make an account though. I just lurked in forums, and never really bothered making one, then one day I just thought I'd give it a bash.

Explosm pointed me towards ZP. Moviebob drew me in further. I started getting bored for a while until Jim Sterling turned up. I'm so glad he improved on his first few episodes; turning a horrible start into an awesome asset for this site is no mean feat.

I don't recall exactly. I think it may have been in high school when I was either looking through the internet for things relating to the game design career I want or else when I was looking for news posts to insert into our weird news segments.

Zero Punctuation might have been my first notice, too. It was at least one of the first things I really started to notice. I started off with "Heavenly Sword and Other Stuff", and I knew I had to see more.

The recording of the PAX panel on female game characters that Susan was on. From there I went through the podcat back catalog, then ZP and the rest.

I heard about it back when X-Play played a few snippets of ZP way back in 2008. I came for ZP and stayed for the forums and the content, and The Escapist has never left my bookmarks since.

I was shown Zero Punc by a friend and watched them for a while before noticing the forum topics. If something big happened in the news I would come here to see reactions. What I saw didn't Blitzkrieg my faith in humanity so I kept looking. Didn't bother making an account for a good long while though because I wasn't bothered. Happy I did though.

I was introduced in a rather unconventional way. I was checking the Newgrounds flash portal many Marches ago and Tom Fulp had put a post on the front page telling people to go vote for the Behemoth in the Escapist's March Mayhem showdown. Originally I just stuck around to vote, and returned each March for the next vote. Since 2012's vote, I'm a fairly regular lurker.

Weird story actually...

So I was rewatching some Angry Video Game Nerd vids on youtube when I wanted something new... I saw a related video link to a video that involved some American guy talkimg very fast about video games whilst a rudimentary flash animation played...

In the comments on this video, a lot of people were calling it a stupid rip off of something valled Zero Punctuation... and after a short google search I found the escapist!
