Skool and adventure! Nothing from my parents. God that was a horrible say to say how I figured it out.

I don't remember how young I was when I first figured out sex, but I got the talk (kinda) when I was twelve. My mum insisted on cleaning my room one day, found my porn mags, got extremely flustered and left the room. Five minutes later my dad walks in, drops onto my bed and starts leafing through the magazines. "So, you know about sex and all that stuff?"
"Yes dad..."
"Cool. Well, come talk to me if you ever have any questions."
"..."
There is something seriously unnerving about having ones parent read ones fap-material, I can tell you.

I had lotsa older brothers. They filled in the blanks for me. Then my mom and dad 'talked' to me and my twin brother. It was like 95% my mom talking.
She was a school teacher and was very dry and technical about everything. That was about age 11 or 12

Much worse was when my mom 'found' a condom in my wallet. Then came the more 'emotional' talk.
It was pretty horrible. That was at age 17.

I guess I found out in stages.

First I read some book on animal reproduction at about 7, then I heard the other kids talk about it for the next few years with varying degrees of understanding of the concept (I distinctly remember hearing "how it works is the man gets on top of the woman and then they say 'hunka hunka!'"). Then my friend and I got hold of her brother's Hustlers which kind of traumatized me, and then we all watched some video in class at age 10. Then the next year my mom bought me some book with a cartoon bird and bee that pretty much filled in all the gaps in my knowledge, and was also cute without being evasive or condescending.

I actually just talked about all this with my mom. She didn't realize I'd learned so early. It made her feel bad, like she should have told me sooner. I had apparently questioned her about why she was pregnant with my little sister when I was about 3, but she didn't know how to respond. I don't know if I'd know what to say either.

Once a kid knows, that's all they can talk about at school.

My parents never wanted me to know that sex even exists (even to this day, and I'm 23 -_-), hoping that I'd become as asexual and/or repressed as they are (I have extremely conservative parents).

But I found out pretty much immediately after starting elementary school and playing with friends that constantly made immature sex jokes and innuendo about everything (and still do :p). For a while, though, I had a rather incomplete picture of sex: I thought that how it worked was, when a man lies horizontally on top of a woman, she immediately becomes pregnant (i.e. full term preggers and about to give birth at any moment).

Also I have a horrible memory of me writing the word "fuck" in a storybook I drew when I was like 7 or something and got severly punished for it by my parents even though I didn't entirely know what it meant :'(

I got sex ed in school, but neither that nor my parents were ever terribly good at explaining things because they all had that god damned puritanical embarrassment about sex. As a result, I found out about all the actually important parts either from conversations with friends and online or from biology textbooks.

I believe I was twelve. My mom sat me down and pretty much all she said was, "Someday your gonna stick your business in a girls and that will make her have a baby. Don't do it till your a little older." Found out pretty much everything else from porn. Relatively painless. X3

First learned about it through porn actually, but at that age it was just "Ewww, why would you do that"

And then when I turned 13 I read about it myself, never got "the talk" and that sex ed was just fucking stupid and redundant.

I learned through observation (not the whole act) and concluded my own theory when I was 8 years old. I only had a chat after I seen the act at age 10, but nothing prepared me for the things I have witnessed on the internet at age 12...

My mom gave me the talk after I had my first period. She also warned me ahead of time that I was going to have a talk with her when I had to start wearing bras. If I didn't know any better I'd say my mother was exited to tell me about the birds and the bees.

my dad just told me that my penis was a tool to unlock a baby vault when i was 10 so yeah.... also,is the "birds and the bees" an actual story? or is it a phrase for sex topic? if it is a story, how does it basically go? sounds really awkward and funny.
