I was about 16, we're both drinking vodka and wait...I mean I don't remember the first I played but the first I own was Mario 64, before that I had played the Amiga and computer stuff like Ski Free.

The first game I ever played for any serious length of time though, would probably be Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World on the SNES while I still had it... why, oh why was I dumb enough to throw it out all those years ago... indeed I was young and incredibly stupid.

Either that or Pokemon Blue.

The first real game I played, (other then stupid educational ones) was the first Doom on the pc. Not sure how old I was, but I was really impressed by the graphics, and all the blood and gore.

Was a pc game, with racing cars. i think it was bird perspective, lige the old gta, don't really remember the name tho' .

I believe it was "Frenzy" on the Colecovision, though "Venture" on the same system was the game that truly hooked me. I passed up a Monster Truck Rally to stay home and play that game.

Rollercoaster tycoon, my dad put me infront of the autoplay and then i noticed i could control the mouse. Best moment of my life.

Hmm. I think the first actual video game I played were some old Game Boy ones. Some sort of island adventures thing that was a knock-off of Kirby and Mario. I also had a Mario game or two, and I remember playing through Metroid II though I don't think I ever actually beat that.

Zoids: The Battle Begins, on the ZX Spectrum 48k. The thing was fantastic. Little rubber keys, the ability to hack games yourself for infinite lives, loading screens... and no fucking RRoD or DRM to deal with. Just load the damn game and play it.

On that note, did anyone else play Horrace goes Skiing? That bloody game was stupid. The Skiing was great, so why did they have to go and ruin the game by having you cross the road to buy skis at the start?
