Well, seeing as I was born in 1993 and had a gaming dad. (yes, had) My first game was Diablo 2, followed closely by Heroes of Might and Magic 2

Hello, Mario. Please have a seat over there.
This, with the exception I was two, yes two years of age when I began my venture into the gaming world. Fairly accurate reason why I am so heavily vested in them today.

EDIT: look at the post above, for example.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World as I recall. Never got very far.
Could practically finish the first level in my sleep the amount of times I've had to redo it.

Pokemon: Yellow. I was about five/six years old.

That or the classic original Super Mario Bros for the NES (combined with Duck Hunt = bonus!).

Well, I played Magic School Bus games all through growing up but I'm not sure if they count in this context. The first game-game I played was VERY late when I was 14, and it was final Fantasy 9. Someone brought a miniPS1 to one act play practice along with the disk and we played.

I was 5 or 6, and my mates a few doors down had just gotten a ZX Spectrum. The full 128K model, baby! Although you could still switch back to the original 48K setup if you were playing a game that couldn't cope with the cavernous expanse of the full one hundred and twenty eight kilobytes.

Anyway, the first game I played there was Breakout, followed by Horace Goes Skiing. I wasn't too hot at either.
