Breton mage. No magic can harm me and my magic is incredibly powerful.

Although I did play the game through on multiple characters, breton mage is always my fave. Was the same on morrowind, will probs be same on skyrim.

I beat it as: an orc warrior, high elf mage, dark elf w/ bow/alchemy (kept her lvl 1 all game and she has 3 maxed skills though.)

I was a Breton, I used a mixture of shield, sword and spells, and a whole lot of enchanted apparel. At about level 12 I figured out that 100% chameleon made the game insanely easy. I used that to complete the main quest and did the rest as I did the first 12 levels.

I ended up a master of alteration, mostly for opening locks, destruction, hand to hand (level 250, it was a glitch) and blade. I was at level 42.

It was the first Elder Scrolls game I played. As such, I had no idea that 90% of the game was side quests. So, I just played the main quest. It took me like two days to beat. I didn't level up once. At which point, I was all "wtf?! This is it?!". And then I realized I'd ignored the vast majority of the game. I just assumed the game was insanely long, because everywhere I went, I had no problems killing anything, so it all just felt like the beginning of the game (I'm guessing because the enemies basically lock to your level when you encounter them). So I started another character and gave it another shot, but never finished because I knew how the main quest ended, and I got bored of all the side quests (and honestly a little creeped out by the facial animations).

Hopefully Skyrim will go a bit better for me, now that I know what kind of a game it is. I'll definitely get it, because Oblivion was still a pretty good game. But, I seem to be into more story driven rpgs, and less the "here's a world, go do shit" rpgs. So, I'm looking forward to Mass Effect 3 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution a lot more. Personal preference.

On the Xbox 360 :D

And in-game, I attempted to be a Breton Spellwarrior. In other words, I liked the pretty magic effects but I also love swords.

The results were amusingly disastrous.

For me, it was a High Elf with:

Restoration, Destruction, Alteration, Conjuration, Mysticism, Illusion... and Hand to Hand.

Mastering Illusion makes the game ridiculously easy when you can run invisible up to an enemy, paralyze them then punch them out while their companions make 'Damn rats' comments in the background.

Seeing as I ran Oblivion on PC, did some modding, and throughly enjoyed the game before my comp literally fried I'll post quite a bit here.

I played a Nord male, custom class Wizard, named Rune. The custom class just the Mage with Illusion replaced with the Blade skill :p

The only mods I made specifically for my char were a some robes/pointy hat, staff, all with minor enchantments, and a nice home. Everything else were mods like OOO, etc. Great fun running around being Gandalf-ish, killing daedra, dieing cause I didn't keep an eye on my health bar.

Played a lot, but I'm feeling a bit down that my current PC cant run squat. So no Oblivion till I get a new graphics card, RAM, and power supply unit T_T. By then though Skyrim will be out lol

Nord soldier. Went through most of the game with a shield and sword, only magic I ever really used was Wizard's Fury cos it was overpowered even at low levels.

I played a black orc

I think my main skills were
Blade
Heavy armor
Conjuration
Alteration
Restoration
Armorer

and a few others which i can't remember.

I got conjuration to 50 early and abused the shit out of the Daedroth summon, while otherwise just playing as a warrior and buffing/healing myself

My first and best character was a Khajiit Stealth guy who stole EVERYTHING. He later branched into Illusion magic, especially Paralysis and Invisability. His favorite spell? A drain health 100 for 1 second as a finishing move.

I actually picked it up again recently and made an Orc Mage who I plan to make a Vampire.

I'll confess I put about 100 hours into that game and I believe I was close to 100 in every single skill. I did really enjoy the assassin missions though. Totally out there compared to the rest of the game.

Edit: OOOO! The complete pack is for sale on Steam. I might have to get that and get back into that game as I never got any of the DLC. (Well.. I *did* get the horse armor >.< )
