I'm pretty different, I have problems dealing with people in face to face situations. I'm way more talkative online then I am in person.

Pretty much the same, I'm just as much as a cynical, far from normal, fool in life as I am here =)

Well, offline I'm a dick, a real dick to people I hate and the jokey kind of cynical, sarcastic dick to my friends.

Online however, I'm sweet as apple pie.
And now I've just realised what a living paradox I truly am.

I'm generally pretty calm IRL, but OL i can, on occasion, descend into the gibbering madness of web based arguments - where me and someone I will never meet start talking about , say, our favourite games and quickly descend into questioning each others parentage and flinging verbal poo at each other. generally speaking I will have to admit to starting most of the shit slinging showdowns.

My online persona is 6 feet 8 inches, 310 lbs of muscle and mentally perfect in every ways, unlike my real life self. He's also commander-in-chief of a global paramilitary organization (see GDI from the Command & Conquer series) and is a shamelessly immortal god-powered foxman.

Most of us I'm sure act slightly differently online than we do offline, be it letting our nerdy side out a little more, to almost a complete personality change. So how differently do you act when online (this applies to online gaming, forums, chatrooms, etc) compare to real life?

Generally when i'm online I am a lot more unforgiving to people who annoy me. If someone annoys me in real life I can just ignore them, but if there's someone being a complete ass on the internet I tend to be a lot less tolerant. My nerdiness doesn't really change that much, my friends knoww i'm a pretty hardcore gamer.
Surprisingly a lot. Online I am a lot more forgiving than I am offline, only because I cant hit people while online.
Haha sounds like we're opposites then. I noticed though that I tend to also say a lot more harsh sounding things in real life than online, because in real life you can can say things in a non-serious way which is generally very difficult to convey through text.

Props for the C&C ref (assuming you're referring to the Westwood Studios originals).

I tend to speak my mind more freely on the internet, I find it easier to say stuff on the internet rather than talking to people face to face. And I tend to say a lot of stupid shit offline, because online I can write it, read it, then post it if it comes out the way I want it to... That doesn't work verbally. Dangit.

My persona is toned down to a level of shy acceptance that I normally don't display. I'm much more hostile and sharp tongued.

In online I'm a good and fair player but quiet. In real life, I'm just quiet, I mean I hardly ever talk.

I'm about the same, though I dial down my sarcasm online since I know it often doesn't translate well.

Well IRL I'm a chronically depressed, insomniac, paranoid bipolar and I do things on my own time, online I'm a bit more confident(easier to ignore a threat when it can't physically harm you,and no life altering consequences)I'm a bit more composed, and I can usually say all the right things, and It's easier to find people who share your intrests or tastes.

I guess I try harder to be funny and smarter online (which doesn't work as often as I'd like it to), but I'm pretty much the same otherwise.
