I listen to a wide variety of stuff, not so much much as other people here, but I don't really care. I probably like at least one artist from most genres, but I'm not too bothered really. What else do you need other than ska?
I keep hearing about Ska but I've never heard a ska band. Can you provide a sample?

I have everything from Public Enemy to Django Reindhart, Primus to Frank Sinatra, Mr. Bungle to Beethoven so I guess you can say that my taste is pretty diverse. So how diverse is your taste in music? Do you stick to one genre or do your tastes vary? List your bands if you'd like.

EDIT: Whoops wrong section, mods please move this.
Bjork, Ink Spots (before fallout3 came out), Karnivool, Mr Bungle, Fantomas, Nirvana, Tool, Promus, Megadeth, Protest the Hero, Vital Information, Opeth, Harry Gregson Williams, Man Man, Eskimoe Joe, Lady GaGa (I don't know why, just catchy), Aretha Franklin, Ministry, Jimi Hendrix to name a few.
I think I have pretty diverse tastes in music.

Techno, Bagpipes, Things you can Riverdance to, Rock, A wee bit of funk, Classical, Other things...

But I despise Country, Rap, Modern holiday music, what Halloween has become... sorry I drifted off there.

My Playlist
I listen to primarily metal (That's just an umbrella term, I listen to plenty of subgenres), but I can also listen to dance/elec/trance, classic rock, almost anything from the 80's, hip-hop, rap (but not Lil Wayne or Flo Rida), and some country.

-I tend to avoid "Top ##'s" because it is mostly made up of good music that gets played so often it loses all appeal.
-I don't like really growly, metalcore or deathmetal where the entire song consists of vocals that sound like cookie monster with a sock in his mouth.
-And, I automatically hate anybody who had their music career handed to them by Disney. If they can stick it out like Justin Timberlake or, arguably, Britney Speares they get some respect but Sean Kingston, Hannah Montana, Demi Lovato, and Jonas Brothers should hurry into obscurity.

Keep in mind that I do not like all of the songs by these bands, only most of them.

The Doors x
The Jimi Hendrix Experience x
The Beatles x
Led Zeppelin x
Louis Armstrong
Django Reindhart
Mr. Bungle
Peeping Tom
Tomahawk
Beethoven x
Tchaikovsky
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Primus
Bob Marley x
Rush
Ray Charles
Stevie Wonder x
Elvis x
Secret Chiefs 3

I have more but I'm trying to keep this list short.
Well, that is quite a list, of those that I've heard of I have marked with an x, but alas, have never listened to or only listened to a couple of songs. But you have a good taste in music.

Also, why does everyone dislike country?
Because country is cliche and annoying now(on the whole... there are some exceptions). You can only enjoy your dog dying soooo many times.

Ridiculously diverse. I'm sure that there are a lot of people that say they listen to any genre except, say R&B for example, without actually knowing of a lot of music that is out there. So here are just a couple of the bands I'm listening to at the moment:

Kings of Convenience (Acoustic Soft Rock/Folk)
Reel Big Fish (Ska Punk)
The Locust (Noise/Mathcore)
The Dillinger Escape Plan (Mathcore)
The Mahavishnu Orchestra (Jazz Fusion)
Django Reinhardt (Gypsy Jazz)
Foals (Indie/Dance-Punk)
Brainiac (Post Hardcore/Noise/Indie)
Lily Allen (Pop)
Every Time I Die (Southern Rock/Metal)
Animal Collective (Indie Pop/Experimental)
Tchaikovsky (Romantic Classical)
The Grates (Indie Pop)
Codes in the Clouds (Post Rock)
Duran Duran (Pop)
The Living End (Rock)
Eric Brosius (Electronic - System Shock 2 Soundtrack)
The xx (Minimalist Electronic Indie)
Skream (Dubstep)
Fbcfabric and Reindeer (Ambient Hip-Hop)

And so it goes on, I've just pulled some bands from my recently played in iTunes. I'd have to say the only genres that on the whole that manage to annoy me are R&B (which is totally different to Hip-Hop, by the way) and Country. In saying that though, there are definitely a couple of songs within each of those genres that I really liked (Rihanna's Umbrella is one, for example).

Not vary I just go from indie to country and rock/folk...once in a vary little while screamo but I'm vary picky about what I like in that genre. I guess it's diverse compared to what other people listen to but my range in genres isn't vary diverse at all.

We have these bands in common good sir (I think 'Promus' is supposed to be 'Primus' correct?) Not many people I know can like bands like Mr. Bungle and Fantomas. I will say one thing about Mike Patton, he likes to screw with people a little too much, which is why I only like about five songs from Fantomas (Most of the other songs are experiments in ear-raping annoyance) but otherwise great choices.

http://www.last.fm/user/grimmvibes that diverse. A 192 on the Open Minded thingy last time I checked, I reckon there's a good 30 genres/sub genres just in my top 50 artists.

I don't understand how people can listen to just a handful of genres of music, it would drive me mad.

I listen to only rock, usually classic, alternative, and some metal. Techno I find annoying because a lot of people in my school listen to that and it's usually douchebag party boys.

That's what I love about Patton. His incredible range and his tendency to do what no-one else does. His experiments with sound are great, (his solo stuff). i'm amazed one man can do all that. His vocal solos are phenomenal, and the stuff he's done with latin and jazz bands just amazes me.
He can sing operatic, RnB, Rock, Metal, Avanta Garde and even in other languages.
To me, he's the ultimate vocalist.
Yes, that was meant to be Primus too.
Tim Alexander is a big inspiration to me.

I listen to everything but rap/hip-hop and j-pop/rock. I can't stand any of those. I have a lot of opera, which apparently isn't too popular around here, and a lot of stuff from the good ol' days of the gramophone.
