How do gamers on Xbox360, PS3, and Wii, as well as any other consoles differ?

We all hear stereotypes about the die-hards on the N64's, the whiny 11 year olds on the 360 (just kidding) and the younger crowd on the wii, as well as the angry PS3 owners. What's your take on the subject?

I like to picture that they are all in separate but adjacent rooms, and that they just made up random shit to shout at each other through the walls, despite never having "seen" each other.

In reality they are all clones.

It's all just BS steroetypes like in everything. There are annoying 12 year olds on PSN, die-hards on the 360, and angry Wii owners. It just depends who you want to single out.

I wouldn't necessarily say that PS3 owners are angry. A better demographic for PS3 owners is we tend to be older people. Most of the people I know that own a PS3 are in their 20's.

Why are PS3 gamers so bitter now? I've never been bitter about my choice for a gaming system, then again I also own a 360. However the 360 is just for exclusives.

Just take this sage knowledge:

I Think its more or less about the game your playing.

Perfect example, Halo 3. How many intelligent people can honestly say they enjoy playing that with their mic on (assuming your not playing with any friends)

I laugh at the xbox 360 stereotype. You know the one: frat-boy, partying hard, twitchy FPS shooter type. It's the only console I have and I'm female, employed full-time, not big on partying, and more of an action/stealth/or well-done RPG fan. So...

I don't believe that it is as clearly defined as we make it out to be. The only concrete assertions I will make are, those who own all 3 systems and have assembled their own gaming rig(like me) are at the top of the hierarchy, and PS3 fanboys are at the bottom.

I'd like to think that all are pretty much the same. Xbox Fanboys are, in the end, the same as Wii Fanboys, just with different "arguments" and not all Wii gamers being Nostalgic Snobs, Casual Gamers or Soccer Moms.


However, in terms of marketing, i'd guess Xbox Gamers would be more the Fun and Escapism guys with a love for online gaming, PS3 gamers being more "Lifestyle-Aware" and open for different and or unique and "artsy" games and Wii Players being mostly Folks who want Casual Fun or being still stuck in Nintendo Nostalgia.

i own all 3 as well. the ps3 is more powerful, the 360 is more social, and the wii is a fucking paperweight.

The 360, of course, is more all-around, the PS3 has gigantic computing capacity, and the Wii is "casual".

I don't think that simply playing a console makes you a different kind of gamer; you can be a casual 360 player or a die-hard Wii owner. The man makes the console

I play the 360 more than the Wii, but only because I don't have many Wii games. The Conduit looks promising, so we'll have to wait for that.

For any that say Halo or Gears fanboys are the worst on the planet. I say F- You in huge giant letters.

I've met the nicest people from around the world while playing Halo and Gears of War. (Granted only the first one, I didn't try the 2nd one out too much. Hated it.) Yet when I play Half Life 2 Deathmatch, Team Fortress 2 or Counter Strike Source. I am filled to the brim with nothing but nonsensical hatred and piles and piles of pure bile from people who can't say Good Game. The other day, I split up an arguement in Team Fortress 2 and the Irony of it all is astounding.

Iso: Y'know what? I've had enough of this. You claim that I'm a console tard, yet were playing TF2 on the PC.
