well, for £1k on our fair little island you can get a fairly awesome pc.

i'll spec you up a few components if you like, do you have a screen?
I was planning on using my HD TV... dunno if that's a bad idea or not, got a spare monitor kicking about though if not. Thank you very much though :D
a hdtv will work as-long as it has the same input as the pc output and a big enough resolution to view everything
at a reasonable detail level if it's 1080 that will be totally fine.

Are you 100% certain that isn't 97F? If you're running 97C all day, I would not expect your PC to last much longer. That's about 5C away from a shutdown to protect the machine. You do not want to be running that every day, all day unless you are wanting to ruin your PC.
Yes i am certain its in C. Everyone keeps asking me lol. Anyway. i opened it up today, actually closed it up bout a minute ago, and there was a fuckton of dust in it. Now that i've cleaned it out, it runs at a, let me check, smooth 35 degrees C.

I'm just going to add for the people who recommended a Sapphire graphics card, I would say do not buy from Sapphire. Ever. Their cards have so many problems, and are plagued with black screen crashes and BSOD problems. I bought a 7870 from them and it didn't work, so I got to see how good their customer service was. It took over a month to get a replacement, and I had to pay for the postage and packaging too. Not recommended.

As for building a PC, if you are confident, just go for it! It really is pretty simple, you just need a guide for a first time build and some common sense.

I built my first gaming PC a few years ago, when I had just turned 14! I didn't have much knowledge on PC's either, I just went for it and it all worked first time. I learned a lot from that too. The Newegg guides were really handy, I would recommend them for building a PC for the first time. They help you with choosing your components, the actual build and installing all the software.

Here is the first video in the Newegg tutorial series:

The hardest part in my opinion is paying for the components. :p
Seriously though, building it is actually pretty simple.

Good luck if you decide to build one in the end! :)

That's faaaaar better. Good to hear you solved that problem. That reminds me, I havn't dusted mine in a long time either, and I have a good off-day to be doing it (it's under a table and not easily accessible).
