On first glance the title of the topic seemed rather sociopathic, in the way someone might genuinely ask how to react, as if it were a total mystery that bore some contemplation.

Now I've read into it I find that I must give my condolences if the worst does happen and I hope to god it doesn't.

If it does, I feel for you. No amount of condolences from anyone will really make you feel any better and being numb is normal, at least until your emotions start to hit back in force.

I hope the worst is avoided, but if not, my heart goes out to you.
I can only add my condolences and agree with the above.

You have my condolences. I'm sorry.

Like many have already said, be strong and let it out. Be there and be ready to face the inevitable.

If I were you, I would pray to God so that the best outcome for her sake happens.

I don't know if your christian, but if your not, then maybe just talk with your aunt (if your allowed to) and just tell her you love her and just talk. I did both of those things at my grampa's death.

Well I just found out that my aunt to whom im very VERY close might die in the next hour due to cancer complications...I dont know how to react to this news or even how to feel...I feel numb as though i cant feel anything happening around me...well i just dont know...thnx
You are somewhat lucky that theres only a possiblity she will die. All the deaths in my family were sudden and absolute, no waiting around, fearing the possiblity. The most emotional one I ever expeienced was my grandfather... dammit, starting to tear up now... the best advice I would give is to accept it if or when it comes, and be with your family... Crying is always acceptable...

First of all, my condolences to you and your family. I've been there, and it isn't a nice situation.

The only advice I can give you is to stay strong, both for your sake and your family's, you'll all need to be there for each other if the worst should happen.
