How Do You Assassinate?

Title says it all. In many of our beloved games we are usually given the task to eliminate a target, and more often than not it's some oblivious NPC. So, what's the method to your madness? Do you go GTA style and introduce them to the front of your car? Or pull out your magic spell, set'em on fire, and send them straight to Hell? Sniper rifle? Rocket launcher? Whatever you like, just make sure they're dead! Discuss.

Personally, I love nothing more than planting some C4 along their path, sitting back, and watching them stroll to their death. The distance of which the poor NPC's corpse is launched is always bonus.

I personally love the 'up-close and personal' approach, specifically that of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. Hell, even if I don't want to do it (or can't without being detected) I can just get one of my trainees to leap into the fray for me.

Punching them in the back of the head with a bunch of nails embedded in a glove.

Either a long-range rifle shot from cover or remote-detonated explosive. I don't like to get my hands dirty.

Call in a nuke directly on top the target because I want to make sure it and all it's guards die.

I look them square in the eye through the scope of a high-powered sniper rifle from the next town over.

However my most favourite kill was in Battlefield 1943. I put all my C4 charges on the flag on the main middle base of the Island the enemy was constantly attacking, I went to a bunker just outside the base, and when the base was being attacked I would detonate it killing everyone there

I always try to make it look like an accident. You know...the light fixture collapsed, or the cake was bad. That sort of thing.

I place a small C4 bomb on a cable that holds a chandelier in place and after one of my targets is assassinated by his coworker with a real gun that I switched from a fake, the other target begins to run to my first and I blow up the bomb killing him by crushing him with the chandelier.

It costs nothing to show him respect in his final moments.

I would say my favorite move to kill someone is always the quick snap of the neck, there is nothing like feeling the life end that quickly...what? oh on a videogame...um...same?

Nice. I didn't give my REAL method of killing someone for this reason...

I did actually work out a good method after reading a few books on forensics. A buddy of mine hated his father-in-law and he was our hypothetical target.

Sniping is the most satisfying way to kill someone, as long as every AI enemy doesn't instantly know where you are.
