Although to be serious, I know a guy going through this right now. DO NOT do what he is doing, which is being the ultimate asshole to make her hate you. It will basically destroy her (for a few weeks anyway)

In any case, give him/her the respect they deserve. Tell them that it's not fair to them to be in a relationship with someone who doesn't feel the same way anymore.
