Right now I am suffering from my worst case of writers' block ever. This is frustrating as i'm a keen RPer here on the escapist. I just can't think of ANYTHNG. Oh and if somehow I get any remote thought, it's crushed by a thing.... something funny. I don't know.

Does anyone know a cure for this? And how do you cure your own? Etc

I would have written a better and more interesting OP but evidently, I have writers block :S

So are you asking for how to cure your own or how we each cure ours?

For you, probably recommend going over your writing and try pick up a vibe or some writing voodoo.

I sketch things that relate to what I write about whenever I get writers block.

It would help if you told us what you were trying to write. We could give you some tips, or something.

Naw just how to over come the block, its a common problem. I just wanna know if theres a universal way to overcome it or something.

Well... I wait. Wait and wait and wait... then.... when my brain least suspects it. It comes to me.

Really, I have no structure to my writing, I just write. If I don't have a feeling to do so, I ignore writing till I do. It's a horrible practice but it keeps the story solid for me.

... but I'd do this. Just read it over and fix any grammatical errors while you're at it, eventually it should start up again.

whenever i feel a bit less coherent/imaginative i turn off all the electronic crap thats on and find some way to immerse myself more in my own thoughts. Convenient as they are stuff like computers and tvs are like sinkholes for thought, its easy to just sit, stare and glaze over.

maybe go for a walk or something?

None that I would heartily recommend as a long-term option, let's put it that way.

Just try relaxing and forgetting about it for a while or something. Often the best ideas come when you're not trying to force them.

I found a great cure for my writes block was to play Spore. Just make creatures left right and centre and give them interesting back stories and such. You'll get so many epic ideas.

Music, especially orchestra. If you hear an epic score you may be able to get the "movie" in your head going again and continue onward with whatever it is your writing.

Beyond going out into the world looking for inspiration, not alot. Watch a film you like, try to pick up some ideas from that.

Last time I got writer's block it was for a public speaking competition, so I wrote about writer's block and won the thing... Try that?

A hammer

Well, I don't know if there is a cure. Take a break, probably. When the brain gets panicked or stressed it releases a chemical into itself which stops you from being able to think of things (Why you can never remember that actor/song/book when you need to, but you do about two hours later).

When I get writers block I sometimes just go outside and try to describe a bird or a house, something simple that doesn't require a lot of creative thought. Just getting into the flow of writing the words is often enough to get me back to writing. If that doesn't work I'll sometimes just take a favorite book and copy passages from it.

If neither of those work than I just put all my writing aside for the day, go outside and take a walk or go to the gym, something physically tiring. That works for me every time.

Just play a game or watch a movie until you get the inspiration to start writing again. You will more then likely find that without thinking about writing, you will get the urge to write...

My friend once told me
"JUST PUT A FUCKING DRAGON IN IT! FUCKIN', WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!?! I DON'T GIVE A FUCK, JUST BAMMM!!! PUT A DRAGON IN IT! It will sort itself out." That guy is made of pure genius.
