How Do You Decide Your Friends?

I don't.
Honestly, I don't really have many friends nowadays.
I have only four people in real life that I'd classify as friends, and they are all like fourteen.
The only reason I know them is because they are my brothers friends.
And the only reason they are my friends is because they worked really hard to worm themselves into my life.
I'm kind of a loner.

It's kind of odd, actually. I both crave human contact and am repulsed by it.
What can I say, I'm a walking contradiction.

I generally befriend nice people who I can trust and talk to.

Or I can be around them for an extended amount of time and not get annoyed by them.
Or people with the same interests as me.

Yeah, there's this girl that I was pretty much in the exact situation with, except I can't talk to her much anymore because her most recent boyfriend which she's been with longer than the rest of them is a bit, uhh, jealous/controlling, and doesn't really want her around me. So from us being nearly inseparable friends, we broke contact for like 2 years and now we just text each other and it feels sorta weird, not like how it was, or how it seems like it was supposed to be, you know? So I dunno what I'd say about that friend-wise. Since I know we're both quite loyal to each other, but I doubt I'll see her for quite a while...

and, idk why, but most of my friends who are girls are at least kinda pretty, but I think that is just a coincidence.

I try and choose that select few people in the world that don't suck... For the most part I fail miserably.

Intelligence, Wit, Humor, Well Read, Drinking Ability, Shooting Ability, General Randomness, Kindness.

But those are just some things. I am a very good judge of character, I'll know within one hour if I'll like someone or not, and if they'll be eligible to hang-out with on a more concrete basis.

Also, they must be able to take a joke. Though, I will be expecting some sort of retalitory act, either with words, or situations.
