You have indeed. To be fair, though, I don't imagine it required too much effort.
Not really, but it made me feel like I had a huge ePenis for a minute.

Gay refers to both men and women. Lesbian refers to women..

So the REAL question is... why are GAY women so special.

Wait... a... minute...

Just found a porn site that told me why.

Bisexuality

Bi-Sexuality

Bi- Latin multiple prefix denoting the value 2
Sexuality- The way someone is attracted to other people

2 - attraction to other people

Both - Sexualities

Thus - Attracted sexually to both genders.

It's really not difficult.

Also, remember that some people can also be pansexual (sexually attracted to people of all gender identities and biological sexes) have aesthetic sexuality (sexually aroused by beauty, including but not limited to paintings, beautiful sculptures, natural beauty)

Basically, while you may not be able to comprehend it, the same thoughts you may only get when seeing a beautiful woman (I'm assuming you're a heterosexual man), a bisexual person could feel for either a man or a woman, and a pansexual could feel for literally anyone. Or even Asexual (no sexual attraction, which doesn't rule out romantic attraction)

Not that 'could' does niot necessarily denote 'will.' It's a common misconception that bisexuals are somehow sexually predacious, but think rationally for a moment. Do you want to have sex with every single woman you see, and does every single woman want to have sex with every single man? No. Bisexuality doesn't make you promiscuous, it just gives you awider field of people who might make you horny.

Sexuality is complicated.

I'm bi, and I don't really understand your question. My thought process is exactly the same as yours or anyone else's, it's just that what sex they are doesn't matter to me.

And I guess people could be taught that they were gay, but later they would probably figure out otherwise, kind of like how most gay people are taught that they're straight only to realize later that they're not, but that really doesn't have anything to do with bisexuals ...

I've been bi for 3 years, and this is probably the question I get asked the most. For the most part, I ignore gender, find someone attractive and then make it work for me. That being said I like women for different reasons than I like men and vice-versa. But really all that matters is that I've evaluated EVERY SINGLE ONE of my friends for sexual attractiveness. I have sexy friends all around me.

Some people like apples but don't like oranges. Some people like oranges but don't like apples. Some people like apples AND oranges. Simple.

Okay.

You know how heterosexuals are attracted to people of the opposite sex?

And how homosexuals are attracted to people of the same sex?

You take a little from column A, and a little from column B....

The term "lesbian" has an actual historical root: The Greek island Lesbos, the birthplace of Sappho (from which comes the term sapphic, another descriptive term for things involving female homosexuality), a female poet who wrote several romantic works directed at other women (and others involving men as well, which would more likely make her bisexual rather than lesbian... go figure). Male homosexualty never developed this sort of "mascot".

[small]Fun fact: The island of Lesbos has a large traditional Greek Orthodox population, which has sued Greek homosexual activist groups to prevent them from using the word "Lesbian" in their titles. The islanders lost.[/small]

In all seriousness, Bisexuals just don't have a preference for Gender. It's the same as some people like men only, some people like women only and some just don't like anyone in that way.

Calumon: I can't explain much. I can't even explain what that word is! :S

This.

Seriously your question doesn't make sense. How do you explain any other sexual attraction? Its the same explanation for bisexual.

To me, trying to explain one's sexuality is like trying to explain your political or religious or whatever alignment; all comes down to you and most of the time, the only people who understand why are the people of the same mind

Its just another set of preferences.
No different, no better, and no worse than any other.

So what would you call straight guy who can look at another guy (gay or not) and think "he's sexy"? I do that, (I have a kid, so not gay) But I can honestly say that, even if I was being 'tricked into a gay act' I would neve follow through with it. Maybe a kiss *wink*

You guys don't need to sound all surprised OP might not fully "get" bisexuals or talk down to him like some seem to be doing...

I'm bi myself, and just to get into a little more detail, there's this whoooole grey area between gay and straight:
-some like both sexes eaqually
-some "lean" more towards one sex or the other
-some take different traditional roles in a relationship depending on the gender they're with. I had a friend who was the traditional "boyfriend" when he was with women and the traditional "girlfriend" with men.
-some have their preferences shift back and forth between sexes, which is what happens to me, and it can be rather frustrating, but I've learned to just go with the flow.

It doesn't surprise me people are barely aware of bisexuality, which includes western European nations as well. People in western nations have just relatively recently accepted homosexuals (some more than others) so I'm not upset or angry when people have questions or don't understand bisexuality. A lot believe a lot of it's myths: http://www.alternet.org/sex/149710/9_stupid_myths_about_bisexuals_that_will_make_you_laugh/

I've found that homosexuals are just as bigoted and judgmental towards things they don't understand as much as heterosexuals; I've had a gay man that was initially interested in me tell me once he found out I was bisexual, "I don't buy that crap, maybe with women, but not with men", telling me that I basicly didn't exist.

It's weird since a lot of people on both sides have trouble accepting it. To a lot of straight people "Bi" is just another word for "Gay" and to a lot of homosexuals I'm not "Gay Enough" to be fully accepted by them. Which is ironic because I had to struggle with liking guys as well in a religious school and they said bisexuality didn't exist either, only gay or straight, so I was horrified at 13 that I was "turning gay" despite liking girls too and in there it ment I was becoming a "bad person". I brought up that point with him and he said "Well I dunno, I just never met one"

Luckily I've found a bisexual girlfriend who can see both sides of a relationship as much as I can, like I know how much of an asshole guys can be, and she knows how bitchy and manipulative women can be. It's a rare experience to have a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship where both actually "get/understand" each other.
