In the short term, it depends on the context.
In the long term (In all cases), I realize that it's a brief, insignificant moment of discussion that will be quickly forgotten and changes nothing.

Why? Because it's on the Internet.

It's basically the only reason for my posts. Why bother putting my opinion up if someone isn't interested enough to respond to it.

It happens every so often. The little box tells you you have one new message, it's in the quoted folder. How do you feel?

For me I get the excitement of having said something important enough for someone to want to reply or expand on what I've said. That and the worry that I've posted something sounding quite aggressive and it's going to be someone calling me out on being a prick.

So, how do YOU feel?
That is precisely the same feeling I get. It's kinda like a drug really.

I dunno.

How do YOU feel?
The point of this, seeing as he already told us how he feels, is?

I'm usually excited. Sometimes I do have the reaction of "I hope I wasn't too big a prick and someone isn't calling me out on it", but I usually don't think about that at first.

I love it when someone quotes me, I don't even give a flying fuck if it was to troll or piss me off. They took the time to quote me and that's that!

Usually it's to agree with me, add stuff on to my point/s, argue with me or to compliment my avatar.
Well then I will continue that trend by saying nice avatar

I feel scared. I always worry I'm in trouble - not even with the Mods, most of the time, just that someone, somewhere disagrees with me. I hate disappointing or upsetting people, can't stand it, it literally makes me feel sick. That's why it's always a relief when it's just someone appreciating my Muse avatar[footnote]That is not a hint. But hey, if you like it... don't let me stop you :D[/footnote].

Why thank you! The compliments used to be directed to a rather funny clown-WW2 one, taken from a clip of Band of Brothers.

Still, it's Daft Punk and they're awesome so they keep coming :D

Yay... quoted =D
No problem, Daft Punk are pretty awesome. I'll have to try and find a clip of this clown from Band of Brothers , it sounds quite amusing =)

Edit: probably isn't going to be the same clip though youtube has provided some interesting results for that search....

I'm neither here nor there about it, but I thought I'd quote you here just to give your day a little boost.

Yeah this is exactly what I was meant when I talked about "people believe so blindly that their opinions are the absolute truth." I recently tangled with him in that thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.286528-EA-CEO-We-Failed-Well?page=4#11309856], but decided that it ultimatley wasn't worth it and moved on. Kudos for continuing to fight the good fight.

Normally, I makes me feel slightly exicted, because there is an off chance of someone wanting an actual discussion. Which can be fun.

In the case of being quoted by Graham in the Feed Dump, it made me feel first confused, than aroused, then confused again, because I had to look for pants.

It makes me feel all tingly inside!
Somebody actually read my message and decided it was worth it to reply to!

It makes me feel SIGNIFICANT.

When I get the message I think, "Oh shit, what did I say now?"

Not that I piss people off like I did a few months ago when I was still new to the forum. For the most part though I like being quoted.

I worry.
Because I'm used to being told I'm wrong.. and I'm useless at arguments, can't argue my point.. so even if I'm right I loose ): Or get shouted down.
So I a-fear the quote before anything.

But then I get the hope that someone thinks I'm speaking sense! And I get happy! :D

The same as you, always worried I'll be refuted.

Usually when I get quoted I ask a question and it gets answered, so I'm generally happy.. (I get more quoted on youtube by asking questions since there are no threads, you just ask a question)

And I almost never get trolled.. So, I don't have to fear those..

So yeah, I generally feel happy when I get quoted : )

Mixed feelings because sometimes it's just people telling me I'm wrong, most of the times I already know what I was wrong about it.
