This is my answer.

Epic
Love this commercial.

I personally love music in commercials/trailers I don't really have a constant source of new music. I don't read any music magazines or go to any websites. Trailers and commercials are great for finding new songs to listen to. The commercial might be ass and a hat and an ass in a hat, but if you can find a song you like, it's great! I've found dozens of songs, including "Lil' King Kong" by Simple Kid and the "Home" song posted above.

I found one of my favorite songs through a trailer, so I am totally okay with it.
Which song would that be?

I'm mildly annoyed by it. Good music is good music. But it gets annoying when people don't seem to get it and just take it as a flavourless bit of pop culture.
The song is Grounds for Divorce by Elbow. I heard it in the first L4D TV spot.

I could care less where a person hears a song as long as they don't go around saying that specific song is the best song ever or the best song by whatever band when its probably the only one they've heard. Let's face it indie/alt rock groups just aren't going to break into the Top 40 charts and get play on mainstream radio stations so not a lot of people will hear their music. They need to get it out their somehow and what better way than commercials or trailers for big budget movies because people will hear it and if they like it enough they'll look into the band and tell their friends about said band. Also with people pirating music like crazy these days they have to make money somehow.

It works, but it doesn't always mean the soundtrack in the actual movie will be good.

Take Watchmen for instance. Good trailer music and stuff- the actual soundtrack in the film? HORRIBLE

I've recently noticed one of my favorite songs (The outsider by A Perfect Circle) was recently used in a resident evil movie trailer and the video almost immediatly went from 300,000 views to around 1,000,000. So I ask you, how do you feel about this happening to your favorite songs?
Maynard is awesome!

That is all.

Uh... nothing?

Someone uses a song in a trailer. What's there to feel?

Probably not entirely related, but I enjoyed the music on this trailer:

Also, this is the most epic fan-made trailer, ever. In my opinion, anyway.

The use of Mad World in a Gears of War trailer was absolutely beautiful. Good, good stuff.

Well, the Watchmen trailer was incredible (much like the movie and the novel), in my opinion. The outstanding visuals accompanied by "The End is the Beginning is the End" by Smashing Pumpkins. The music really set the atmosphere for the trailer.
