I don't really care as long as they stay about 2-3 feet away from me. Also, if they all of a sudden put their hand on my shoulder, they find themselves in an arm lock.

Just a nervous twitch of mine.

Depending on how mentally prepared I am either very awkwardly or my throat swells shut and I can't breathe so not at all.

I am usually driven to talking to strangers due to boredom, many people are incredibly interesting.

A lot of people get the impression that I don't like them because I'm not very talkative. That's not usually the case. I'm just not a very talkative person, I might grunt a hello or something but that's really about it. Maybe I'll nod my head if they say something agreeable but really I just have nothing to say. It's true I don't really like strangers but that's really only if they're in my house or invading my space. I'm very territorial.

I feel quite comfortable about talking to people I don't know at all and probably ain't ever going to have to see again.

However, if there are people I might have to get along with but don't know, then I get kind of nervous. Who am I talking about? Well, people in my semester I have nothing to do with, for example. Or new people I know I'll have to work with for a while.

It's kind of weird, but...
People I know closely and complete strangers I feel comfortable around.
People I know barely but might have to keep dealing with, I feel uncomfortable around.

I, myself, get very uncomfortable around strangers. Sure, if they ask for directions or anything, I'll gladly help, but I have sort of this mental picture of how they see me.
Same here, Thats why i don't really like to go out, i always have the feeling people are looking at me, really makes me feel uncomfortable.

It mainly depends on where I am, who's around and what mood I'm in. Sometimes I'm a right unsociable, scared little twit other times I'm completely at ease and up for some tom foolery.

I think, for me, it all depends on the situation and the stranger's body language - and how embarrassing the thing I'm asking for is.

Usually it's one of the things I fret over and worry about, but then some instinct takes over and I breeze through the situation.

...then I wake up naked in a ditch minus a kidney and think "Ah, man. Not again!"

I have a small problem with complete strangers, but it takes little for me to relax and consider everyone around me my friend - which isn't always good.

No. There's the chance I'll mumble and I'll have to repeat myself.
I'll do it if I need directions or something, however.

Social Anxiety Disorder sucks.. I have an extremely difficult time speaking to anyone who didn't share a common interest with me in the first 20 seconds of talking with them. Can't make eye contact either.

Im not great talking to strangers but im getting better at it. Talking to strangers is great for work, school and life itself.

There was a guy, a middle age man that studied in my college, he got along with everybody in school, all carrers and even the staff. He told me that i needed to open up a little bit more, talk to people sitting on the next table in the cafeteria etc because you never know wich stranger can help you out in the future and it can be more truthful.

Of course this is easier to do if you start a conversation with more mature people instead of some random teenager jerk.

Avoid, if at all possible. Unless I'm at a social event or place and want to try and make friends.

Ooh same here, Asperger's Syndrome blows donkeys.
Maybe we should be friends and hate the world together. \o/
