hi people i was just wondering how you feel about killing things like spiders/bugs etc, just because i killed a spider and now i feel terrible. i think its stupid that i feel terrible but i can't help feeling that i just killed an innocent thing. i'm the type of person that will normally grab a spider and put it on a branch outside. How do you feel about killing the little things?

Oh, this thread is about bugs. That makes sense because it's not like I was going to comment on killing a person or anything like that, *laughs nervously*

SUCH FLAMMABLE LITTLE INSECTS!

Ahem.

I hate spiders and flies are annoying, they all die and I'm glad to be rid of them. The only part I don't like is the smear they leave on whatever I flattened them on.

I feel safer. I hate bugs. I'd probably feel bad if I squished some endangered species, but if I kill a standard brown recluse, or a grandaddy longleg, or a few ants I know there billions out there ready to take their place.

A small relief from annoyance. If they aren't in the range of my face or my ear, I wouldn't bother.

Powerful!

Not really.

When I kill flies I feel victorious, anything else and I feel bad. I don't like flies very much.

Seriously! How hard is it to dodge a giant wave of lava!

OT: I feel the same way as the OP, I would much rather take a bug outside where it can live out the rest of it's already short lifespan. Much less mess to clean up anyway, here in Aus, squashing a spider means at least 20 minutes of guts to clean up, assuming the little bastard isn't playing possum and gone by the time you come back with cleaning materials.

This actually happened today. After coming back home, I felt something crawling on me, it was an ant. So I took it and brought it back outside. I can't kill anything that has done me no wrong and those poor little creatures did not.

Depends on the type of bug/arachnid.

If it's something that tries to steal my food, drink my blood or otherwise hurt or inconvenience me, then I feel great. The one exception I have to that are bees, simply because they do far more good than harm (that, and honey is delicious).

So a bit like humans? lol

Funny, being a vegetarian - I don't care about bugs.

In fact, I think they're all c*nts..

Well, I tend not to kill spiders if I can help it, but generally when I'm killing ants, I'm just annoyed at their presence. Mosquitoes, houseflies and such, same as ants. With wasps, I feel a little euphoric thrill, almost like a real fight... but a much lesser version.
There was this one time I killed a bumblebee that wouldn't leave my enclosed deck... and I felt awesome

People, though... that's more complicated.

If they get all up in my shit I don't care if I kill them. However if it's a small thing like a mouse then I don't like killing them, which isn't a good trait to have when your cat actively tortures them.
