I'm a berserker, through and through. I can do a more patient, thought out strategy, but my first thought and tactics are always based around berserking.

Never fought in real life, but I assume it would involve lots of curse words and a sort of manic onslought of fury on my part. If it gets to the point where I'm going to come to blows, I'm going to be PISSED.

In games...

In Strategy, I try and build up my units and upgrade them, then split them into two groups. One is usually the heavy hitters, and the other is either cavalry or scouts. Then I use the soldiers to take some heat while I take down the occupied enemy combatants with my scouts or cavalry. It doesn't always work, because sometimes I end up spending too much time and money on upgrades.

With FPS's I've been playing as a stealthy rifleman. Lots of fun sneaking up to higher ground and then capping some super-mutants in the face with a hunting rifle.

In RPG's I tend to go the Tank route. Lot's of armor, and can dish out some pretty awesome damage. My favorite character in Fire Emblem was Hector, cause he can basically withstand a nuclear holocaust without so much as a scratch.

In real life? Dirty, preferably. Yeah, I'm not gonna stand around and throw haymakers; I'm gonna bring it to the ground as quickly as possible.

In games? Aggressively. I prefer to block as little as possible, and dodge or strafe if I can. I'm partial to heavy weapons that do lots of damage, as long as they don't slow down my movement.

I open with a pre-ass-kicking one-liner. "You know the phrase 'speak softly and carry a big stick'? Well I'm the most soft-spoken person you'll know."
I usually don't mess around, I go for the vitals right away. Throat, solar plexus, even the temples once.
There's a weird thing about the human body where striking the trunk nerve in the armpit cripples the whole body for just a little bit. I thought it was a great load until I got the opportunity to try it, and goddam, I was just as surprised as the other guy. I didn't follow up on it, which is alright because he was too freaked out to keep going.

Of course, I've only been in a couple "fights" in my time, so take my off-handed bad-assery with a grain of salt.

In games, I go for either the counter-heavy quick stuff, or the big heavy fists, depending on my mood and the weapon.

though im not formally trained in any martial arts apart from being in a wrestling club headed by a former provincial judo champion, from what i remember from my last real fight my style reflected that very much "like judo" but not the actual martial art.

thats just unarmed though with sword sparring i without trying often move to a fencing stance, and i can do fairly well with a kendo type stance depending on how my opponent moves.

for example. one of my friends has a background in tae kwon do and has a stance that is similiar to what you would see with a chinese jian, thus alot of footwork and moving here i go fencing for the speed advantage.

and another one of my friends prefers a zwiehander type weapon without much footwork i switch to a kendo stance for maneuvering advantage

in video games i have a hard time being anything but pure offence

If it is a real fight, if some one is trying to harm you, use everything you can to save yourself from harm. Strike at the eyes, groin, throat. Attempt small joint locks such as "the dog walk" (ask a friend who has done time to teach you that it may save your life one day) if it is a real fight there is no such thing as "barred hold" or a "dirty trick" do the most harm you can, disable and withdraw.

well im not one who likes to get into fights and i avoid them when i can, but if i did have to fight (when barehanded) i will just full on tackle then to the ground and pummel them using my large size and weight, but not that much more than to pacify the opponent.
in strategy games i try to be as balanced as possible, not charging in without thinking what the likely outcome will be, and in FPS, Run and gun baby! :D

in games:
well, generaly, i don't fight so much as heal the tank. but in situations where i have to fight, i prioritize:
2. if i have no tank: find a position where i can volley ranged attacks, and my opponent can't hit me.
else
3. if i'm taking damage: employ a balance to use the minimum offensive tactics required to maximize the regeneration of whatever resources i'm using.
else
4. if I can't maintain a stable level of resources: flee.

IRL:
Resign.

I almost never have to fight in real life because I'm so tall but if I have to I'd grab him by the collar and just pound onto his nose. If they don't have a collar however, I assume the fetal position and cry.

Strategy Games: Take time, build up my forces in a defensible position, and then strike, marching forth slaughtering anything in my way.

FPS: Screw center mass, aim for the head! I prefer accurate, effective weapons (CoD4's G3) to rolling out the dakka.

Real life: Use diplomacy and avoid fighting as much as possible. Failing that, attempt to incapicitate the agressor as effictently as possible, AFTER exhausting EVERY possible alternative.

In fact, this quote sums up my Strategy Game tactics nicely.
"Do not strike until you are ready to crush the enemy utterly, and then attack without mercy, destroy every vestige of resistance, leave no-one to work against you."

If I had a bloody shotgun then they would be singing a different tone from their throats. Also, throw a sword in there.

With me, its just sit back and command everyone ELSE to do my shit for me.... In games, frozen synapes is exactly my example.

In Games: Depends what game I'm playing and what style most of the player base is using. I like to see what everyone else is using and find a skill set that makes that makes that style of playing useless against me.

In Real Life: I'm physically weak so I try not to get hit. The only way I can do any real damage is to use my legs (I use a very strong axe kick) or if I get angry I start fighting dirty (The hair on the back of the head is 1 of the best places to grab if your in trouble) I also try to hit places I know will hurt (Getting hit in the groin area also hurts women but probably not as much as men). Stomping someones feet or throwing sand are good distractions (Of course you can always use a weapon, back in high school I hit a boy with a trash can after he and his friends pushed me down the stairs).

Of course the best way to win a fight is to not fight at all. For this you can use intimidation (Warning sometimes backfires!) if someone is threatening you try to act like you could kick their ass without trying, be smug don't yell or cuss it makes you look weak (someone who can keep their cool under heavy pressure can pull this off easily).

If things go south you can always run away (If intimidation fails against a large group this is always what I default to)

I try to gain a fluidity from blow to blow, making sure Im using my bodies kinetic energy from all the said movement to unleash a hard hit to hit. never stopping, light on my feat, never grabbing or restraining. Im at my best when I can move freely.

IRL I'm usually good at talking my way out of a situation but when i can't i'm usually defensive (if there are no weapons involved).

If a knife has been pulled on me (which has happened) i take the arm, break it, then a swift chop to the throat. I'm deceptively fast for a fat bastard. Oh, and i can use my weight to my advantage. Sheer strength usually gets me through when my speed fails.

FPS wise; i'll usually empty a clip moving to cover in suppression fire, lob a grenade to flush them out while reloading, pop up and take a few out with ironsights then run up close for the last few.

Fighting Games; Anyone who does anything similar to Wing Chun, Karate, Systema, Krav Maga, Tae Kwon Do or Mantis Kung Fu as those are the ones i've had passing training in. (Done a few months of training here and there but couldn't afford to keep going to lessons. I'm flat broke most of the time BTW)

In both games and real life I fight defensively. I'd rather wait, block, maybe take manageable hits.. all the while waiting for the perfect time for a crippling counterattack.

In games I just prefer to stay under cover or use a shield (depends on the game) and take my shots while they're reloading or by parrying and countering. I was just playing Dark Souls and I've found this works very very well against stronger opponents.

In real life I typically avoid fights but if it's absolutely going to happen I tend to bait my opponent into thinking I've got nothing by blocking, dodging and staging weak counters leading them to make bigger and bigger mistakes. Once they've made a critical mistake (such as leaving themselves off balance or leaving a weak point entirely exposed) I take my opportunity and counter.. I haven't lost a fight yet.

RTS: mostly reactive, only committing forces to the attack when I have an obvious advantage

FPS: frantic, always moving, always trying to be where people least expect... which is why I hate games with simple maps that railroad you into a kill zone

Fighting games: reactive, I block and counter a lot.

RPGs: I tend to focus on control/status effects over damage or mitigation.

Real life: brutal and dirty. I know the soft spots on your weak human frame, and I will hit them with anything I can.

Either in your face or from a loooong way away. I don't really enjoy mid-ranged. And that's for both virtual and physical combat. I do alot of LARPing, and from what my opponents have told me, it's rather shocking seeing a normally calm and kind girl charging at you with a combat ready reenactment grade sword. ^^'

irl? you'd be surprised how effective the jedi mind trick is. Dead serious. Last time some drunken asshole got in my face slurring on about how he's gonna kick my ass, I had the wherewithal to say "You don't want to hurt anyone." The drunk stopped babbling at me long enough to barf on my shoes and pass out. See? Jedi mind trick.

Games? I like to use strategy v. long combos or overwhelming force. It's way more satisfying to beat someone while they have a full army together or headshot them while they have full armor and best gun of the fps of the day.
