Personally, i bottle it up until it seeps out into the surroundings.
Best idea is to find people you like hang about with them, also be sure to do lots of social events (with your friends) i know it sounds idiotic but you tend to slowly adapt to a non depressed mood.

Edit: also avoid gaming and extended pc hours, you tend to look reclusive and people treat you as such.

You're depressed and your asking random people on the internet for advice? Well if I were you, I would tell some people and get a Psychiatrist. You could also write a book based on some of the stuff you're going through.

Oh and not trying to insult you or make your depression worse, but you need to put a capital letter at the start of sentences.

Yeah, definitely find some friends and hang out with them, even though you may not want to. Fake until you make it is what my mom always says. You could also find a sad movie and just cry it out or a violent one and fight/scream it out.

I always feel a bit better after a good cry

I kill stuff.

A lot of stuff.

Seriously though, a good game that lets me beat things to death with my own virtual hands helps relieve stress and makes me happy.

Watch something that reminds you of how good your life actually is. Try watching something with starving children, or, something that shows people that are maimed or disfigured. Then look at your situation and ask yourself if it can be worse than it already is.

Yeah, use it to work towards something.
If you just work towards a specific goal, you eventually just don't feel depressed anymore. You just get kind of numb for a bit and don't really feel anything, then you finish what you were working towards and it feels great.

I know that may sound a little dirty to some people on the net, but trust me, it works.
Mine was training for the army.

Hang out with friends, constantly. Don't even give yourself a chance to be depressed.

Being clinically depressed is not a new thing these days.
My suggestions are: Look at your diet and how much exercise are doing.
Not eating enough fresh foods, like fruits and vegies can make you depressed.
The mind can become depressed if the body isnt active enough as well.
To much down time being inactive is highly depressing as well.

This helps in some part, but an actual depression should be treated with proper care and expertise. A psychologist, psychiatrist, or pharmacist, or even your neighbourhood social worker can help with this.

On that note: it's about time that mental complaints are taken as seriously as physical complaints. This thread kinda sounds like 'I have an infection. who knows what to do?' and the answers being 'drink plenty of fluids, and rub some seaweed on it.', or some other arbitrary home remedy.

And don't feel like I'm judging you in any way when I say: get help. It's the 21st century, and it's about time we stop treating mental complaints the same way we used to treat 'bad humours' in the middle ages. You could benefit a lot from professionals that deal with this kind of thing all the time, and don't walk around with an attitude like it's just you, you're crazy, and there's nothing to do about it. There's tons of people trained to deal with whatever you're having problems with that are more than happy to relieve your complaints.

So get some proper assistance. There is certainly no shame in seeking professional help, no matter what the stigma.

I swear, sometimes I think we're barely out of the dark ages.

Laughter is the best medicine. You can't feel depressed, because you're to busy laughing your ass off.

Im depressed too. And I've tried that one. Did'nt help, but it might help you. It seems that my depression seems to stem from somewhere that i can't put my finger on.

I think it might have something to do with that i do not have a reason to cry. If I cry, people call me stupid and say: "There are a lot of ohter people out there that live a much worse life that yours, and you complain?" It makes me feel like I'm not human. Everytime I express negavite feelings, society shuns it down. That sad half of me dosen't exist anymore, and that makes me sad.
Kind of a paradox, right?

Society apparently finds people that have suffered to be more of a human than me. Might not be true, but I am still depressed for some reason.
