Face it, some of us will distract our body from pain or any other uncomfortable feeling. I usually will pinch my leg or stomach, because it seems to distract the nerves from the main source of pain. So, the question is, what is your method to making yourself ignore some kind of weird feeling, whether it's pain or not?

I don't ignore it, I embrace it. Pain is one thing that lets me know I'm still alive. In a sense, I view it as a good thing.

I'm not really sure, some time around the 3[sup]rd[/sup] or 4[sup]th[/sup] broken bone I stopped paying attention to the pain. Moving the growing point of your wrist an inch towards your knuckles can do wonders for your pain threshold.

With more pain? Like I always say," The best cure for pain, is pain."

What is this 'pain' you speak of? I focus on nothing but the sybaritic consummation of my basest needs, and pain is not one of them.

I set my face and deal with it, and it has helped me build up a fairly large pain threshold. I went o the dentist once for some drilling without anestheitic and he was amazed by how little discomfort i was in.

Don't need to ignore it, I've had severe crohns disease for two years so I have a insanely high pain tolerance.

Pain inspires me to inflict more pain to my self (oooh yeaah)
Just kidding I take pain in as a good thing but when I feel horrible then I ignore it by getting a backrub from a turtle.

I swear constantly in my head. I dunno why but it does actually help. I went to the dentists once and had a filling done without anaesthetic. I just thought of a stream of swear words while he was drilling, and it helped distract me from it.
Shame it wouldn't be as practical out loud..

Unlike everyone else here, I'm not a masochist (joking, guys - you're not masochists) so I usually take painkillers or just deal with it.

ice packand ibuprofen or simply soldier on and ignore it.

I got head butted in the back a few days ago and it still throbs like a muscle tear. I think something is probably wrong but there's probably nothing to do about it except rest teh affected area and ice it. Maybe I'll heat it too. Dno. I'm busy though so can't really do all that.

Strangely enough, I focus on the area with my mind, and it kinda dulls it.
And if that doesn't work, I put pressure in it.

It's sorta hard to explain.

i think about it logically i just keep telling myself in my head that pain is just away for my brain to tell me that i am injured it isnt a bad thing an dosent really exist and then it just goes away (except when i broke my arm then that mentality kept me from going to the hospital
