First, sanity and rationality must be explained, then their use and relevance must explained. However, even though they are meaningless, I would define myself as both insane and sane at the same time. Do not ask how

I once told a co-worker that 9 out of the 10 voices in my head tell me I'm not crazy.

The co-worker said, "Yeah, there's always that one guy who can't agree".

I said, "No, the tenth voice is whistling the song Axel F".
funny, all my voices tell me about insanity is when someone else is insane, they don't seem to bother whether I am crazy or not...

Oh, by the way, they think you are perfectly rational, normal, SANE person... (HEY! LISTEN!) Crap! (HEY! LISTEN!) shes back again! (HEY! LISTEN!, HEY! LISTEN!. HEY! LISTEN!, HEY! LISTEN!)

I know I'm not insane because I question it.

Your insane if you think that lunatic behaviour is normal.

i.e Looking for weapons of mass destruction without any proof.

Or saying you will pull out troops from Iraq in your first year of office then sending 50,000 more to Afghanistan.

1) Insane as in doing something totally irrational and not contributing to your well-being/survival. Like running through a mall naked, laughing maniacally at a queue at the bank.

This one obviously is very clear, unless you also have amnesia

2) Insane doing things regular people do, like living in a cubicle for most of your life for 'money'. Spending years building level 80 characters in WoW. Obsessing over that one girl out of 3 billion. Not liking someone because they hate Mozart. Liking someone because they like The Smiths.

Regular things that people do, some times not the most logical, but hey what the heck.

3) You hold vastly differing opinions from the rest of the world, it doesn't affect your daily life, but when the mothership comes down, you'll be one of those saved from annihilation.
According to Einstein the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results..

so yes i am insane

Well this is easy. If you are not doing any of the following;

-Cracking open zombies head in order to feast on the diseased goo inside.

-Holding out hope for duke nuekum forever being released within the next year.
its coming out just you wait

Sanity is a relative term set out by the majority of society that shares a similar state of mind.

I think its insane that so many australian men settle down to marry the fatty australian women (who are numerous and overtaking the country D:)

To admit that you are insane makes you sane.

I read a quote like that but it sounded better and a lot more epic in my head. I probably said it wrong. It goes something like that anyway.

Only crazy people push society forward because society is a giant turd and only someone really crazy would have the guts to push.
