Unless the earth looses the sun, I don't think humanity can really die out.
We are sort of are hard to eradicate, I mean take a look at what we have done to the jews. Even before they had Judiasm they were slaves to the Egyptians, durring the Middle Ages they were thought to have brought the Black Plauge to everyone, and there's the Halocaust thing that I'm sure I don't need to get into.

I'm fairly certain that no matter how the world ends, if it does indeed happen, at some point, it'd be by some unavoidable event. I also believe that it's not bound to happen in my lifetime. As such, I'm really not too concerned about it. I love life, but I'm not going to stress myself into a pretzel over things beyond my control; I have enough stress at work.

I'd expect some sort of explosion, though. Bomb, meteor, whatever.
Something that would make Michael Bay haunt the universe forever with his envy.

I imagine that by the time the world's supply of fossil fuels runs out, we will not have an adequate means of replacing them. Nations will go to war with each other over what little supplies they have left. After that millions will die from an inability to feed themselves without fossil fuel based machinery or medical supplies.

But if your talking about the planet itself instead of the people living on it, I'd say in a few billion years when our sun expands and consumes the Earth in fire.
