How do you prepare for finals?

Well this is obvious...
First I get a small white goat, no older than 4 weeks, and bathe it in a rosemary and hemlock based tincture. Next I extract the blood of the goat using an obsidian dagger, and collect the blood in a tarnished silver bowl. After that I let the blood sit and coagulate for a day, while reciting prayers for good marks on the exam in reverse. It is important that you do not eat sleep or drink during this time.
Next I add water that has never been touched by sunlight into the silver bowl, then a powdered mixture of mandrake root and the finger nail clippings of an orphan who lost his parents at sea (this is really important, if the parents perished in any other way, it won't work.)
Toss that in a Kitchen-aid mixer (one that costs more than $200 but no more than $400, that would just be a total rip off) then apply liberally to the scalp, and boom you're set for your exams.
Otherwise I typically just study.

Look over all the stuff that the final covers, and make sure I know all of it. Make a sheet of notes if I have to/can. Look at the book for around 10-15 minutes the night before, on the bus too school, and before class. Play videogames. I think that pretty much covers it. I never really do much studying (ever). When people mentioned how the studied for hours, I just cock my eyebrow and go back to watching Doctor Who, then proceed to ace the test the next day.
Well first, I think you mean "How DID you prepare?", as I am a graduate of my university.

I'm not a big study person. I'm an 'Absorb everything in class and therefore retain most of what I needed to know in the first place' kind of guy. Most of what I heard in class was a much more streamlined version of many of my book readings. So, I was able to carve out a successful college term this way.

I use this simple process:
1 - Panic
2 - Fuck! I haven't studied!
3 - Chill, play Final Fantasy
4 - What the fuck did I do that for?! I need to study!
5 - Attempt to study while constantly thinking about killing my brother and sister.
6 - Realise studying isn't gonna help and just wing it.

Go on the internet until 1am.

Arrive, do test.

I'd start studying 2 weeks before exam time.
1. Skim over all the material, wait a day, see what I retained and what I completely forgot.

2. Reread through the material and write down things I didn't remember off the top of my head.

3. Focus on the material I didn't remember. Drill it in to my head as best I can by repeating it 10-15 times.

4. Once again skim over all the material and see what I remembered.
5. By this point i've got a pretty good idea for what I need to do, so I just study whenever I get the chance up until 3 days before exams.
6. Spend the last 3 days focusing on studying.

For morale, you see. Then cranking out a paper(s) the night before it's due while the entire dorm turns into a hive mind, with each person that is the best at each subject helping the rest of the dorm.
Followed, of course, by celebratory drinking, singing, more chain smoking, and a Buffy/Supernatural/whatever marathon.

I never study for finals, there's no point in it because I understand what I'm doing...
Also, studying non-stop actually causes you to remember less than studying for an hour, taking an hour break, studying for an hour, taking an hour break... Never cram your studying into a short time period.
